Remember those who are in prison, as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body [and subject to physical suffering].
I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care]; I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].’

for the poor youth has [used his wisdom and] come out of prison to become king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom.

except that the Holy Spirit solemnly [and emphatically] affirms to me in city after city that imprisonment and suffering await me.
I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me [with help and ministering care].’
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared [beside him] and a light shone in the cell. The angel struck Peter’s side and awakened him, saying, “Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off his hands.
To open the eyes of the blind,
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon
And those who sit in darkness from the prison.
Notice that our brother Timothy has been released [from prison]. If he comes soon, I will see you [along with him].
When he had seized Peter, he put him in prison, turning him over to four squads of soldiers of four each to guard him [in rotation throughout the night], planning after the Passover to bring him out before the people [for execution].
The warden committed to Joseph’s care (management) all the prisoners who were in the prison; so that whatever was done there, he was in charge of it.
And when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison (the abyss),
But this is a people despoiled and plundered;
All of them are trapped in holes,
Or are hidden away in prisons.
They have become a prey with no one to rescue them,
And a spoil, with no one to say, “Give them back!”
But Saul began ravaging the church [and assaulting believers]; entering house after house and dragging off men and women, putting them in prison.
