'Awe' in the Bible

And the Lord responded: “Look, I am making a covenant. I will perform wonders in the presence of all your people that have never been done in all the earth or in any nation. All the people you live among will see the Lord’s work, for what I am doing with you is awe-inspiring.

Then all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by Yahweh’s name, and they will stand in awe of you.

Then the woman went and told her husband, “A man of God came to me. He looked like the awe-inspiring Angel of God. I didn’t ask Him where He came from, and He didn’t tell me His name.

Let the whole earth tremble before the Lord;let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

in your splendor ride triumphantlyin the cause of truth, humility, and justice.May your right hand show your awe-inspiring acts.

For Yahweh, the Most High, is awe-inspiring,a great King over all the earth.

The righteous will look on with aweand will ridicule him:

Make and keep your vowsto the Lord your God;let all who are around Him bring tributeto the awe-inspiring One.

God is greatly feared in the council of the holy ones,more awe-inspiring than all who surround Him.
