'Languishes' in the Bible

Those who had an abundance of bread now hire themselves out, and those who were hungry hunger no more. While the barren woman gives birth to seven children, she who had many children languishes.

My eye languishes from misery. I call on you, O Yahweh, every day; I spread out my hands to you.

Kaph.My soul languishes for Your salvation;I wait for Your word.

"The earth dries up and withers; the world languishes and fades away; heaven fades away, along with the earth.

The new wine mourns,The vine decays;All the merry-hearted sigh and groan.

The land mourns and dries out,Lebanon is shamed and [its lush foliage] withers;Sharon is like a desert plain,And Bashan and [Mount] Carmel shake off their leaves.

“She who has borne seven [sons] languishes;She has breathed out her soul.Her sun has set while it was still day;She has been shamed and humiliated.So I will hand over [the rest of] the survivors to the swordBefore their enemies,” says the Lord.

For I satisfy the weary ones and refresh everyone who languishes.”

For this reason the land mourns,and everyone who lives in it languishes,along with the wild animals and the birds of the sky;even the fish of the sea disappear.

The crops of the fields have been destroyed. The ground is in mourning because the grain has perished. The fresh wine has dried up; the olive oil languishes.

The vine has dried up; the fig tree languishes -- the pomegranate, date, and apple as well. In fact, all the trees of the field have dried up. Indeed, the joy of the people has dried up!

He rebukes the sea and he dries up the rivers; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither; the blossom of Lebanon languishes.
