'Mind' in the Bible
And he answered [and] said, 'I do not want to!' But later [he] changed his mind [and] went.
And he said to him, " 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
And [when] {his family} heard [this], they went out to restrain him, for they were saying, "He has lost his mind!"
And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed man sitting [there] clothed and in his right mind--the one who had had the legion--and they were afraid.
But turning around and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan, because you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but the things of people!"
And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength.'
So they went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out sitting [there] clothed and in his right mind, at the feet of Jesus, and they were afraid.
And he answered [and] said, "You shall love the Lord your God from all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
And many of them were saying, "He has a demon and is out of his mind! Why do you listen to him?"
All these were busily engaged with one mind in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers.
And [when they] heard [it], they lifted [their] voices with one mind to God and said, "Master, you [are] the one who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all the things in them,
And the crowds with one mind were paying attention to what was being said by Philip, [as] they heard [him] and saw the signs that he was performing.
But they said to her, "You are out of your mind!" But she kept insisting it was so. And they kept saying, "It is his angel!"
And [as] he was saying these things in his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, "You are out of your mind, Paul! [Your] great learning {is driving} you {insane}!"
But Paul said, "I am not out of my mind, most excellent Festus, but am speaking words of truth and rationality.
And just as they did not see fit {to recognize God}, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do the things [that are] not proper,
but I observe another law in my members, at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that exists in my members.
Thanks [be] to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself with my mind am enslaved to the law of God, but with my flesh [I am enslaved] to the law of sin.
"For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?
And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may approve what [is] the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.
One person prefers [one] day over [another] day, and another person regards every day [alike]. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.
so that with one mind you may glorify with one mouth the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now I exhort you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all say the same [thing] and there not be divisions among you, and that you be made complete in the same mind and with the same purpose.
"For who has known the mind of the Lord; who has advised him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unproductive.
{Therefore what should I do}? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will also sing praise with my mind.
but in the church I prefer to speak five words with my mind, in order that I may instruct other [people], than ten thousand words in a tongue.
For if we are out of our senses, [it is] for God; if we are of sound mind, [it is] for you.
among whom also we all formerly lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the mind, and we were children of wrath by nature, as also the rest of [them] were.
This therefore I say and testify in the Lord, [that] you no longer walk as the Gentiles walk: in the futility of their mind,
be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Let no one condemn you, taking pleasure in humility and the worship of angels, going into detail [about] [the things] which he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind,
Set your mind on the things above, not [on] the things on earth.
constant wrangling by people of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who consider godliness to be a means of gain.
And {just as} Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these oppose the truth, people corrupted in mind, disqualified concerning the faith.
To the pure all [things] [are] pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing [is] pure, but both their mind and conscience are defiled.
but he with an oath by the one who said to him, "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, 'You [are] a priest {forever}'"),
And I will also make every effort [that] you are able at any time, after my departure, {to recall these things to mind}.
Dear friends, this [is] already the second letter I am writing to you, in [both of] which I am attempting to stir up your sincere mind by a reminder,
Here [is] the mind that has wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains {on which the woman sits} and they are seven kings.
