'One' in the Bible
But if any one of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all freely and reproaches not, and it shall be given to him:
But he must ask in faith, without any doubts, for the one who has doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
such a one is a man of two minds, undecided in every step he takes.
but the one who is rich should boast in his humiliation because he will pass away like a flower of the field.
Happy is the one who endures testing, because when he has proven to be genuine, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.
No one undergoing a trial should say, “I am being tempted by God.” For God is not tempted by evil, and He Himself doesn’t tempt anyone.
and each one is tempted, by his own desires being led away and enticed,
You know this, my dearly-loved brethren. But let every one be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to be angry.
because, if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, this one hath been like to a man viewing his natural face in a mirror,
But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but one who does good works—this person will be blessed in what he does.
If any one doth think to be religious among you, not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, of this one vain is the religion;
My brethren, you must not make distinctions between one man and another while you are striving to maintain faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our glory.
For suppose a man comes into one of your meetings wearing gold rings and fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man wearing shabby clothes,
and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,”
and ye did dishonour the poor one; do not the rich oppress you and themselves draw you to judgment-seats;
Do they not blaspheme the good name of the one you belong to?
But if you are making distinctions between one man and another, you are guilty of sin, and are convicted by the Law as offenders.
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
For the one who said, "Never commit adultery," also said, "Never murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but you murder, you become a violator of the Law.
For judgment is without mercy to the one who hasn’t shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
What is the profit, my brethren, if faith, any one may speak of having, and works he may not have? is that faith able to save him?
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
But say may some one, Thou hast faith, and I have works, shew me thy faith out of thy works, and I will shew thee out of my works my faith:
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
for we all make many stumbles; if any one in word doth not stumble, this one is a perfect man, able to bridle also the whole body;
but no one can tame the tongue. It is an uncontrollable evil filled with deadly poison.
This wisdom is not from heaven, but is of the earth and the flesh and the Evil One.
For this cause be ruled by God; but make war on the Evil One and he will be put to flight before you.
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Go, now, ye who are saying, 'To-day and to-morrow we will go on to such a city, and will pass there one year, and traffic, and make gain;'
Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
You have condemned and murdered the one who is righteous, even though he did not rebel against you.
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
Doth any one suffer evil among you? let him pray; is any of good cheer? let him sing psalms;
Is any one ill? Let him send for the Elders of the Church, and let them pray over him, after anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
and the prayer of the faith shall save the distressed one, and the Lord shall raise him up, and if sins he may have committed, they shall be forgiven to him.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person's soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
