'Place' in the Bible

When God took his place as judge, for the salvation of the poor on the earth. (Selah.)

And place in God their confidence, And forget not the doings of God, But keep His commands.

And they add still to sin against Him, To provoke the Most High in the dry place.

How often do they provoke Him in the wilderness, Grieve Him in the desolate place?

So that he went away from the holy place in Shiloh, the tent which he had put among men;

And buildeth His sanctuary as a high place, Like the earth, He founded it to the age.

He took David to be his servant, taking him from the place of the flocks;

You cleared a place for it;it took root and filled the land.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

A psalm of Asaph.God has taken His place in the divine assembly;He judges among the gods:

For the music director; according to the gittith style; written by the Korahites, a psalm. How lovely is the place where you live, O Lord who rules over all!

Passing through the valley of Weeping they make it a place of springs; Yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.

O Lord, God of my salvation, I have been crying to you for help by day and by night:

For my soul is full of troubles,And my life draws near the grave (Sheol, the place of the dead).

You place me in the lowest regions of the pit, in the dark places, in the watery depths.

Is your loyal love proclaimed in the grave, or your faithfulness in the place of the dead?

Will Your wonders be known in the darkness?And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness [where the dead forget and are forgotten]?

Thou hast put far from me lover and friend, Mine acquaintance is the place of darkness!

Righteousness and judgment Are the fixed place of Thy throne, Kindness and truth go before Thy face.

I will place his hand over the sea, and his right hand over the rivers.

His seed will keep their place for ever; his kingdom will be eternal, like the heavens.

What man can live and not see death?Can he rescue his soul from the [powerful] hand of Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead)? Selah.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Who says of the Lord, He is my safe place and my tower of strength: he is my God, in whom is my hope.

You will only [be a spectator as you] look on with your eyesAnd witness the [divine] repayment of the wicked [as you watch safely from the shelter of the Most High].

Because he has given me his love, I will take him out of danger: I will put him in a place of honour, because he has kept my name in his heart.

And Jehovah is for a high place to me, And my God is for a rock -- my refuge,

So in my anger I declared an oath: "They are not to enter my place of rest."

Honour and glory are before him: strong and fair is his holy place.

For He hath looked From the high place of His sanctuary. Jehovah from heaven unto earth looked attentively,

For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

The high hills are a safe place for the mountain goats, and the rocks for the small beasts.

He made the moon for seasons, The sun hath known his place of entrance.

Your faith is unchanging from generation to generation: you have put the earth in its place, and it is not moved.

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

I get up before dawn and cry for help; I place my hope in your word.

Those whose hope is in the Lord are like the mountain of Zion, which may not be moved, but keeps its place for ever.

Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

The LORD made an oath to David from which he will not retreat: "One of your sons I will set in place on your throne.

Lift up your hands in the holy placeand praise the Lord!

Behind and before Thou hast besieged me, And Thou dost place on me Thy hand.

If I ascend to heaven, You are there;If I make my bed in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), behold, You are there.

My frame was not hidden from you while I was being crafted in a hidden place, knit together in the depths of the earth.

Truly, the upright will give praise to your name: the holy will have a place in your house.

O Lord, place a guard on my mouth! Protect the opening of my lips!

Just as one plows and breaks up the earth, our bones are scattered near the entrance to the place of the dead.

Looking to my right side, I saw no man who was my friend: I had no safe place; no one had any care for my soul.

I have made my cry to you, O Lord; I have said, You are my safe place, and my heritage in the land of the living.

Reach down your hand from your high place; rescue me and deliver me from mighty waters, from the control of foreigners.

Do not place trust in princes, in a son of humankind with whom there is no deliverance.

He set them in place to last forever and ever; he gave the command and will not rescind it.

Hallelujah! Praise God in his Holy Place. Praise him in his great expanse.
