Appropriate Use Of Prophecy And Tongues

² For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands him, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. ³ But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their edification and encouragement and comfort. ⁴ He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

Romans 14:19

Let us therefore pursue what makes for peace and for mutual edification.
