1 It is of what existed from the very beginning, of what we heard, of what we saw, of what we witnessed and touched with our own hands, it is of the Logos of Life
1 What was (A)from the beginning, what we have (B)heard, what we have (C)seen with our eyes, what we (D)have looked at and (E)touched with our hands, concerning the (F)Word of Life—
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
1 What was from the beginning,(A)what we have heard,what we have seen with our eyes,what we have observedand have touched with our hands,concerning the Word(B) of life—
1 What existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we observed and touched with our own hands this is the Word of life!
2 (the Life has appeared; we saw it, we testify to it, we bring you word of that eternal Life which existed with the Father and was disclosed to us) ??3 it is of what we heard and saw that we bring you word, so that you may share our fellowship; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
2 and (G)the life was manifested, and we have (H)seen and (I)testify and proclaim to you (J)the eternal life, which was (K)with the Father and was (L)manifested to us—
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
2 that life was revealed,(C)and we have seen itand we testify and declare to youthe eternal life that was with the Fatherand was revealed to us(D)—
2 This life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testify about it. We declare to you this eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3 We are writing this to you that our own joy may be complete.
3 what we have (M)seen and (N)heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our (O)fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
3 what we have seen and heardwe also declare to you,so that you may have fellowship(E) along with us;and indeed our fellowship is with the Father(F)and with His Son Jesus Christ.
3 What we have seen and heard we declare to you so that you, too, can have fellowship with us. Now this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus, the Messiah.
5 If we say, 'We have fellowship with him,' when we live and move in darkness, then we are lying, we are not practising the truth;
5 (R)This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that (S)God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
5 Now this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light,(H) and there is absolutely no darkness in Him.(I)
5 This is the message that we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness none at all!
6 but if we live and move within the light, as he is within the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from every sin.
6 (T)If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we (U)lie and (V)do not practice the truth;
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
6 If we say, “We have fellowship(J) with Him,” yet we walk in darkness,(K) we are lying and are not practicing(c) the truth.(L)
6 If we claim that we have fellowship with him but keep living in darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.
7 If we say, 'We are not guilty,' we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us;
7 but if we (W)walk in the Light as (X)He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and (Y)the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
7 But if we walk in the light(M) as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus(N) His Son cleanses us from all sin.
7 But if we keep living in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, he forgives our sins and cleanses us from all iniquity;
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
8 If we say that we do not have any sin, we are deceiving ourselves and we're not being truthful to ourselves.
9 if we say, "We have not sinned," we make him a liar and his word is not within us.
9 (AB)If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and (AC)to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

9 If we make it our habit to confess our sins, in his faithful righteousness he forgives us for those sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
