Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
Since the day
I took your sinful thing, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it, grinding it very small until it was as fine as dust; and I threw its dust into the brook that came down from the mountain.
For I know
your rebellion and your stubbornness; behold, while I am still alive with you today, you have been rebellious against the Lord; how much more, then, after my death?
Then the sons of Israel did
evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals,
They did not destroy the peoples,
the Lord commanded them,
trusted in your beauty and played the harlot because of your fame, and you poured out your harlotries on every passer-by who might be willing.
Will you judge them, will you judge them, son of man?
Make them know the abominations of their fathers;
and they played the harlot in Egypt. They
played the harlot in their youth; there their breasts were pressed and there their virgin bosom was handled.
we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
