Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
For those who live in Jerusalem, and their
rulers, recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him.
this Man, delivered over by the
predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.
to do whatever Your hand and
Your purpose predestined to occur.
Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.
Now He said to them,
“ These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
After this, Jesus,
knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, *said, “ I am thirsty.”
When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.
And ascertaining this from
the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
And he took it down and wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had ever lain.
After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.
