And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
And this they did, sending it in charge of Barnabas and Saul to the elders.
When they arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the church and
the apostles and the elders, and they reported all that God had done with them.
From Miletus he sent to
Ephesus and called to him the elders of the church.
1 Timothy 5:1
Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father, to the younger men as brothers,
Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for
the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
1 Peter 5:1
Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed,

Now there were at
Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
From there they sailed to
Antioch, from which they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had accomplished.
And now I
commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, Having said this, He breathed His last. into Your hands I commit My spirit.”
