When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.
After there had been much
debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe.
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting
Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;
But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that
the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.
it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
If you do this thing and God so commands you, then you will be able to
endure, and all these people also will go to their place in peace.”
Then after an interval of fourteen years I
went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also.
Then it seemed good to
the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas—Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren,
So he invited them in and gave them lodging.And on the next day he got up and went away with them, and
some of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
The Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings. These six brethren also went with me and we entered the man’s house.
When they arrived at Jerusalem, they were received by the church and
the apostles and the elders, and they reported all that God had done with them.

For though I am
free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more.
It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.
though I have enough confidence in Christ to order you to do what is proper,
The apostles and the elders came together to look into this matter.
And the following day Paul went in with us to
James, and all the elders were present.
