2 And, a certain man, who had been, lame from his mother's womb, was being carried, - whom they used to lay daily at the door of the temple - the door called Beautiful, that he might ask alms of them who were entering into the temple:

2 And (C)a man who had been lame from his mother’s womb was being carried along, whom they (D)used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, (E)in order to beg (b)alms of those who were entering the temple.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

2 And a man who was lame from birth was carried there and placed every day at the temple gate called Beautiful, so he could beg from those entering the temple complex.(B)

2 Now a man who had been crippled from birth was being carried in. Every day people would lay him at what was called the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from those who were going into the Temple.

3 Who, seeing Peter and John about to enter into the temple, was requesting to receive, an alms.

3 When he saw (F)Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms.

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple complex, he asked for help.

3 When he saw that Peter and John were about to go into the Temple, he asked them to give him something.

4 But Peter looking steadfastly at him - with John - said: Look on us!

4 But Peter, along with John, (G)fixed his gaze on him and said, “Look at us!”

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

4 Peter, along with John, looked at him intently and said, “Look at us.”

4 Peter, along with John, looked him straight in the eye and said, "Look at us!"

5 And, he, gave heed unto them, expecting to receive, something from them.

5 And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

5 So he turned to them,(b) expecting to get something from them.

5 So the man watched them closely, expecting to get something from them.

6 But Peter said - Silver and gold, have none, but, what I have, the same, unto thee do give: - In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, Walk!

6 But Peter said, “I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: (H)In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene—walk!”

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

6 But Peter said, “I don’t have silver or gold, but what I have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”(C)

6 However, Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold, but I'll give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus the Messiah from Nazareth, walk!"

7 And, laying hold of him by the right hand, he raised him up; and, instantly, were his feet and ankles strengthened; -

7 And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.

7 Then, taking him by the right hand he raised him up, and at once his feet and ankles became strong.

7 Then Peter took hold of his right hand and began to help him up. Immediately his feet and ankles became strong,

8 And, leaping forward, he stood and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.

8 (c)(I)With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

8 So he jumped up, stood, and started to walk, and he entered the temple complex with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.(D)

8 and he sprang to his feet, stood up, and began to walk. Then he went with them into the Temple, walking, jumping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him, walking and praising God;

9 And (J)all the people saw him walking and praising God;

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

9 All the people saw him walking and praising God,

9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God,

10 And they began to recognise him, that, the same, was he who, for the alms, used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; - and they were filled with amazement and transport at what had happened unto him.

10 and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to (K)sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

10 and they recognized that he was the one who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the temple complex. So they were filled with awe and astonishment at what had happened to him.(E)

10 they knew that he was the man who used to sit and beg at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Peter's Sermon In Solomon's Portico

11 And, as he held fast Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them, in the portico which is called Solomon's, - greatly amazed.

11 While he was clinging to (L)Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called (d)(M)portico of Solomon, full of amazement.

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

11 While he(c) was holding on to Peter and John, all the people, greatly amazed, ran toward them in what is called Solomon’s Colonnade.(F)

11 While he was holding on to Peter and John, all the people came running to them in what was called "Solomon's Colonnade". They were dumbfounded.

Peter Preaches In The Temple

12 And Peter, seeing it, made answer unto the people: - Ye men of Israel! Why marvel ye at this man? Or, upon us, why are ye intently looking, as though, by our own power or godliness, we had made him walk?

12 But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?

12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

12 When Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? Or why do you stare at us, as though we had made him walk by our own power or godliness?

12 When Peter saw this, he told the people: "Fellow Israelis, why are you wondering about this, and why are you staring at us as if by our own power or godliness we made him walk?

13 The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, - the God of our fathers, hath glorified his servant Jesus: - whom, ye, indeed, delivered up and denied to Pilate's, face when he had adjudged to release him;

13 (N)The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, (O)the God of our fathers, has glorified His (e)(P)servant Jesus, the one whom (Q)you delivered and disowned in the presence of (R)Pilate, when he had (S)decided to release Him.

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers,(G) has glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in the presence of Pilate,(H) when he had decided to release Him.

13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob the God of our ancestors has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you betrayed and rejected in the presence of Pilate, even though he had decided to let him go.

14 But, ye, denied, the Holy and Righteous One, and claimed a man that was a murderer to be granted you;

14 But you disowned (T)the Holy and Righteous One and (U)asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One(I) and asked to have a murderer given to you.(J)

14 You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer released to you,

15 But, the Princely Leader of Life, ye slew: - whom, God, raised from among the dead, whereof, we, are witnesses.

15 but put to death the (f)(V)Prince of life, the one whom (W)God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are (X)witnesses.

15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

15 You killed the source(d) of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this.(K)

15 and you killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses to that.

16 And, by the faith of his name, unto this man whom ye see and know, hath his name given strength, - yea, the faith which is through him, hath given unto him this perfect soundness, over against you all!

16 And on the basis of faith (Y)in His name, it is (g)the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.

16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

16 By faith in His name, His name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So the faith that comes through Him has given him this perfect health in front of all of you.

16 It is his name that is, by faith in his name that has healed this man whom you see and know. Yes, the faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect health in the presence of all of you.

17 And now brethren, I know that by way of ignorance ye acted, - just as even your rulers.

17 “And now, brethren, I know that you acted (Z)in ignorance, just as your (AA)rulers did also.

17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

17 “And now, brothers, I know that you did it in ignorance, just as your leaders also did.(L)

17 "And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance like your leaders.

18 Howbeit, God - what things he had before declared, through the mouth of all the prophets, for his Christ to suffer, - did thus fulfill!

18 But the things which (AB)God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, (AC)that His (h)Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

18 But what God predicted through the mouth of all the prophets—that His Messiah would suffer—He has fulfilled(M) in this way.

18 This is how God fulfilled what he had predicted through the voice of all the prophets that his Messiah would suffer.

19 Repent ye, therefore, and turn, - unto the blotting out of your sins; to the end that in that case, there may come seasons of refreshing from the face of the Lord,

19 Therefore (AD)repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that (AE)times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

19 Therefore repent(N) and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out,(O) that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,(e)

19 Therefore, repent and turn to him to have your sins blotted out,

20 And he may send forth him who had been fore-appointed for you - Christ Jesus:

20 and that He may send Jesus, the (i)Christ appointed for you,

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

20 and that He may send Jesus, who has been appointed(P) for you as the Messiah.

20 so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and so that he may send you Jesus, whom he appointed long ago to be the Messiah.

21 Unto whom, indeed, heaven must needs give welcome, until the times of the due establishment of all things, of which God hath spoken through the mouth of his holy age-past prophets.

21 (AF)whom heaven must receive until the (j)period of (AG)restoration of all things about which (AH)God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

21 Heaven must welcome(f) Him until the times of the restoration of all things, which God spoke about by the mouth of His holy prophets from the beginning.(Q)

21 He must remain in heaven until the time of universal restitution, which God announced long ago through the voice of his holy prophets.

22 Moses, indeed, said - A prophet, unto you, shall the Lord God raise up among your brethren, like unto me: unto him, shall ye hearken respecting all things whatsoever he shall speak unto you.

22 Moses said, ‘(AI)The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet (k)like me from your brethren; to Him you shall give heed to everything He says to you.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

22 Moses said:(g)The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

22 In fact, Moses said,

23 And it shall be - every soul, whatsoever, which shall not hearken unto that prophet, shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.

23 (AJ)And it will be that every (AK)soul that does not heed that prophet (AL)shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

23 And everyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from the people.(R)(h)

23 "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you. Any person who will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.'

24 But, indeed, all the prophets, - from Samuel and those following after, as many as have spoken, have even announced these days.

24 And likewise, (AM)all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

24 “In addition, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those after him, have also announced these days.

24 "Indeed, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who followed him, also announced these days.

25 Ye, are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God covenanted unto your fathers, saying unto Abraham - And, in thy seed, shall be blessed, all the families of the ground.

25 It is you who are (AN)the sons of the prophets and of the (AO)covenant which God (l)made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘(AP)And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

25 You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors, saying to Abraham, And all the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.(S)(i)

25 You are the descendants of the prophets and the heirs of the covenant that God made with your ancestors when he told Abraham, "Through your descendant all the families of the earth will be blessed.'

26 Unto you first, God - having raised up his Servant - hath sent him forth, ready to bless you, when ye are turning away, each one, from your wickednesses.

26 For you (AQ)first, God (AR)raised up His (m)Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

26 God raised up His Servant(j) and sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.”(T)

26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning every one of you from your evil ways."
