And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
But Peter and the apostles answered, “
We must obey God rather than men.
but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.
witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.
and for many days
He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very ones who are now His witnesses to the people.
and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
2 Corinthians 13:1
This is the third time I am coming to you. Every fact is to be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,
“When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
God also testifying with them, both by
signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.
1 Peter 1:12
It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who
preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look.
And they were all
filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.
While Peter was still speaking these words,
the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.
But this He spoke
of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
