For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error,
grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.

Many will follow their
sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;
