And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

The statement found approval with the whole congregation; and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas and Nicolas, a

proselyte from Antioch.

On the next day we left and came to Caesarea, and entering the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, we stayed with him.

The city

These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: “Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans;

Preached

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.

And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and

preaching Jesus as the Christ.

and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”

And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

The woman *said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.”

but we preach

Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,

For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.

For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
