1 You who are masters must treat your slaves justly and fairly, and remember that you have a Master too, in heaven.

5 Use wisdom in dealing with outsiders, making the most of your opportunities.
5 (a)(I)Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward (J)outsiders, (b)(K)making the most of the opportunity.
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

6 Always put your message attractively, and yet pointedly, and be prepared to give every inquirer a fitting answer.

7 All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord:

7 Tychicus will tell you everything that has happened to me. He is a dear brother, a faithful minister, and a fellow servant in the Lord.
8 I am sending him to you for the express purpose of letting you know my circumstances, and of cheering your hearts.

8 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts;

11 So also does Jesus who is called Justus. They are the only ones among the converts from Judaism who have worked with me for the reign of God who have proved a comfort to me.
11 and also Jesus who is called Justus; these are the only (AA)fellow workers for the kingdom of God (AB)who are from the circumcision, and they have proved to be an encouragement to me.
11 And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
11 and so does Jesus who is called Justus. These alone of the circumcision are my coworkers for the kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.
11 Jesus, who is called Justus, also greets you. These are the only ones of the circumcision who are fellow workers for the kingdom of God. They have been an encouragement to me.
12 Epaphras, one of your own number, a slave of Christ Jesus, wishes to be remembered to you. He is always standing up for you in his prayers that you may stand fast, like men of mature convictions, whatever God's will for you may be.
12 (AC)Epaphras, (AD)who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always (AE)laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may (f)stand (g)(AF)perfect and (h)fully assured in all the will of God.
12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

13 I can testify how anxious he is about you and the brothers in Laodicea and Hierapolis.

13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
