17 "There are to be no cultic prostitutes among the daughters or the sons of Israel.

17 “There shall be no cult prostitute among the daughters of Israel, nor shall there be a cult prostitute (a sodomite) among the sons of Israel.

18 Do not bring a female prostitute’s wages or a male prostitute’s(b) earnings into the house of the Lord your God to fulfill any vow, because both are detestable to the Lord your God.

18 You shall not bring the hire of a harlot or the wages of a (n)(Q)dog into the house of the Lord your God for any votive offering, for both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.

18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

18 Don't bring the earnings of a female prostitute nor the income of a male prostitute into the house of the LORD your God as payment for any vow. Both of these are detestable to the LORD your God."

18 You shall not bring the wages of a prostitute or the price of a dog [that is, a male prostitute] into the house of the Lord your God as payment for any vow, for both of these [the gift and the giver] are utterly repulsive to the Lord your God.

19 “You shall not charge interest to your fellow Israelite—interest on money, food or anything that may be loaned for interest.

20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

20 You may charge interest to a foreigner, but don't charge interest to your relatives, so the LORD your God may bless you in everything you undertake in the land that you are about to enter and possess.

20 You may charge interest to a foreigner, but to your fellow Israelite you shall not charge interest, so that the Lord your God may bless you in (c)all that you undertake in the land which you are about to enter to possess.

Keeping Vows

21 “If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to keep it, because He will require it of you, and it will be counted against you as sin.

21 (U)When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for it would be sin in you, (s)and the Lord your God will surely require it of you.

21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

21 "When you make a vow to the LORD your God, don't delay paying it, because the LORD your God will certainly demand payment from you, and then you will be guilty of sin.

21 “When you make a (d)vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for He will most certainly require it of you, and a delay would cause you to sin.

22 But if you refrain from making a vow, it will not be counted against you as sin.

22 However, if you refrain from vowing, it would not be sin in you.

22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

22 But if you refrain from making a vow, then you won't be guilty.

22 But if you refrain from making a vow, that would not be [counted as] sin in you.

23 Be careful to do whatever comes from your lips, because you have freely vowed what you promised(d) to the Lord your God.(G)

23 You shall be careful to perform what goes out from your lips, just as you have voluntarily vowed to the Lord your God, what you have (t)promised.

23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

23 Be sure you do whatever you promise, because you have given your word voluntarily to the LORD your God.

23 You shall be careful to perform that [vow] which passes your lips, just as you have made a voluntary vow to the Lord your God, just as you have promised with your own words (mouth).

24 When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

24 "When you enter your countrymen's vineyard, you may eat the grapes to your satisfaction, but don't take any in a basket.

24 “When you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, (e)as many as you please, but you shall not put any in your basket [to take with you].

25 When you enter your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck heads of grain with your hand, but you must not put a sickle to your neighbor’s grain.

25 (V)When you enter your neighbor’s standing grain, then you may pluck the heads with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor’s standing grain.

25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.

25 When you enter your countrymen's grain fields, you may pluck the grain with your hand, but don't put a sickle to his standing grain."

25 “When you come into the standing grain of your neighbor, you may (f)pluck the ears of grain with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor’s standing grain [to harvest it].
