Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you.

Behold, I Paul say to you, that, if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, invite you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called.

I am an ambassador in chains who should speak boldly.

Even before all these things, they will capture you, and persecute you. You will be delivered to synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake.

Then the military commander came near and laid hold on him. He commanded that he be bound with two chains. He asked who he was and what he had done.

Paul replied, I pray to God, that you and also all that hear me this day were altogether such as I am, except for these bonds.

Then after three days he sent for the chief men of the Jews. When they assembled, he said to them: My brothers, though I had done nothing against the people or the ways of our fathers, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans.

Are they ministers of Christ? I speak as a fool. I am more in labors more abundant, beaten beyond number, in prisons more frequent, in deaths often.

It is right for me to feel this way on behalf of you all, because I have you in my heart. Both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the good news you are all partakers with me of grace.

I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake. I do my share in behalf of his body, the congregation, to provide what is lacking of the afflictions of Christ.

Pray also for us that God may open to us a door for the word, to speak the secret of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned.

Do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me his prisoner. Join me in suffering for the good news according to the power of God.

I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal. But the word of God is not imprisoned.

Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, our brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow worker,

Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil (false accuser) (Devil) is about to throw you into prison, that you may be tested. You will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful even if you must die, and I will give you the crown of life.
