Laws About Slaves

¹ "Now these are the rules that you shall set before them. ² “If you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years; but on the seventh he shall go out as a free man without payment. ³ If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him.

Seventh Year

Deuteronomy 15:12-15

"If your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

Deuteronomy 15:18

It shall not seem hard to you when you let him go free from you, for at half the cost of a hired servant he has served you six years. So the LORD your God will bless you in all that you do.

Genesis 27:28

May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine.
