Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
So you will again
distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.
For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds.
All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
But each one must
examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
“But if the
wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed and observes all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “
Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.
But if you on your part warn a wicked man to turn from his way and he
does not turn from his way, he will die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your life.
As it is written in the
law of Moses, all this calamity has come on us; yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our iniquity and giving attention to Your truth.
Therefore, return to your God, Observe kindness and justice,
wait for your God continually.
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord,
Return to Me with all your heart,
fasting, weeping and mourning;
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
but kept declaring both
to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.
Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.
For I have
no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God. “Therefore, repent and live.”
As I live,” declares the Lord
God, “you are surely not going to use this proverb in Israel anymore.
who will render to each person according to his deeds:
