From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “ Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Then He began to denounce the cities in which most of His
miracles were done, because they did not repent.
The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went.
1 Kings 8:47
if they take thought in the land where they have been taken captive, and repent and make supplication to You in the land of those who have taken them captive, saying, ‘ We have sinned and have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly’;

John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness
preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
They went out and preached that men should repent.
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
But he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’
and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Peter said to them, “
Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
When they heard this, they
quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.”
overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,
testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
but kept declaring both
to those of Damascus first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.
2 Corinthians 7:10
For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a
repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
2 Timothy 2:25
with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.
