God's Dealings With Israel For His Name's Sake

¹² And I also gave them my sabbaths to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctifies them. ¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My statutes and they rejected My ordinances, by which, if a man observes them, he will live; and My sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I resolved to pour out My wrath on them in the wilderness, to annihilate them. ¹⁴ But I intervened for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the Gentiles, in whose sight I brought them out.

Ezekiel 20:21

Notwithstanding, the sons rebelled against me: they did not walk in my statutes, nor keep my rights to do them, by which the man that does them shall live by them; they polluted my Sabbaths; then I said: I would pour out my fury upon them to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

Ezekiel 20:8
