A Different Gospel

6 I am astonished that you are turning away so quickly from the one who called you by the grace of Christ to a different gospel,

6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting (L)Him who called you (c)by the grace of Christ, for a (M)different gospel;

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

6 I am amazed that you are so quickly turning away from Him who called(H) you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of the Messiah and, instead, are following a different gospel,

7 not that [there] is a different [gospel], except there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ.

7 which is really not another; only there are some who are (N)disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

7 not that there is another gospel,(I) but there are some(J) who are troubling you and want to change the good news(c) about the Messiah.

7 not that another one really exists. To be sure, there are certain people who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel about the Messiah.

8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim a gospel to you contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let him be accursed!

8 But even if we, or (O)an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel (d)contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be (e)(P)accursed!

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

8 But even if we or an angel(K) from heaven should preach to you a gospel other than what we have preached to you,(L) a curse be on him!(d)

8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that person be condemned!

9 As we said before, and now I say again, if anyone is proclaiming a gospel [to] you contrary to what you have received, let him be accursed!

9 As we (Q)have said before, so I say again now, (R)if any man is preaching to you a gospel (f)contrary to what you received, he is to be (g)(S)accursed!

9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

9 As we have said before, I now say again: If anyone preaches to you a gospel contrary to what you received,(M) a curse be on him!

9 What we have told you in the past I am now telling you again: If anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that person be condemned!

10 For am I now making an appeal to people or [to] God? Or am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ.

10 For am I now (T)seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a (U)bond-servant of Christ.

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

10 For am I now trying to win the favor of people, or God?(N) Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ.

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of people or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be the Messiah's servant.

Paul's Defense Of His Apostleship

11 For I make known to you, brothers, the gospel that has been proclaimed by me, that it is not {of human origin}.

11 For (V)I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is (W)not according to man.

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

11 Now I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel preached by me is not based on human thought.(e)

11 For I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human origin.

12 For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught [it], but [I received it] through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

12 For (X)I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a (Y)revelation of Jesus Christ.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

12 For I did not receive it from a human source and I was not taught it, but it came by a revelation(O) from Jesus Christ.(P)

12 For I did not receive it from a man, nor was I taught it, but it was revealed to me by Jesus the Messiah.

13 For you have heard about my former way of life in Judaism, that to an extraordinary degree I was persecuting the church of God, and trying to destroy it,

13 For you have heard of (Z)my former manner of life in Judaism, how I (AA)used to persecute (AB)the church of God beyond measure and (AC)tried to destroy it;

13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

13 For you have heard about my former way of life(Q) in Judaism:(R) I persecuted(S) God’s church to an extreme degree and tried to destroy it.

13 For you have heard about my earlier life in Judaism how I kept violently persecuting God's church and was trying to destroy it.

14 and was progressing in Judaism beyond many contemporaries in my nation, [because] I was a far more zealous adherent of the traditions handed down by my forefathers.

14 and I (AD)was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries among my (h)countrymen, being more extremely zealous for my (AE)ancestral traditions.

14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

14 I advanced in Judaism beyond many contemporaries among my people, because I was extremely zealous for the traditions of my ancestors.(T)

14 I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries, because I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors.

15 But when the one who set me apart from my mother's womb and called [me] by his grace was pleased

15 But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb and (AF)called me through His grace, was pleased

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

15 But when God, who from my birth set me apart and called(U) me by His grace, was pleased

15 But when God, who set me apart before I was born and who called me by his grace, was pleased

16 to reveal his Son in me in order that I would proclaim the gospel [about] him among the Gentiles, immediately I did not consult with flesh and blood,

16 to reveal His Son in me so that I might (AG)preach Him among the Gentiles, (AH)I did not immediately consult with (i)(AI)flesh and blood,

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

16 to reveal His Son(V) in me, so that I could preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone.(f)

16 to reveal his Son to me so that I might proclaim him among the gentiles, I did not confer with another human being at any time,

17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those [who were] apostles before me, but I went away to Arabia and I returned again to Damascus.

17 (AJ)nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went away to Arabia, and returned once more to (AK)Damascus.

17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

17 I did not go up to Jerusalem(W) to those who had become apostles(X) before me; instead I went to Arabia(Y) and came back to Damascus.(Z)

17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before me. Instead, I went away to Arabia and then came back to Damascus.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and I stayed with him fifteen days,

18 Then (AL)three years later I went up (AM)to Jerusalem to (j)become acquainted with (AN)Cephas, and stayed with him fifteen days.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

18 Then after three years I did go up to Jerusalem(AA) to get to know Cephas,(g)(AB) and I stayed with him 15 days.

18 Then three years later, I went up to Jerusalem to become acquainted with Cephas, and I stayed with him for fifteen days.

19 but I did not see [any] others of the apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.

19 But I did not see any other of the apostles except (k)(AO)James, the Lord’s brother.

19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

19 But I didn’t see any of the other apostles except James,(AC) the Lord’s brother.

19 But I did not see any other apostle except James, the Lord's brother.

20 (Now [the things] which I am writing to you, behold, [I assure you] before God that I am not lying.)

20 (Now in what I am writing to you, (l)I assure you (AP)before God that I am not lying.)

20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

20 Now I am not lying in what I write to you. God is my witness.(h)

20 (Before God, what I'm writing to you is the truth.)

21 Then I came to the regions of Syria and of Cilicia,

21 Then (AQ)I went into the regions of (AR)Syria and (AS)Cilicia.

21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

21 Afterward, I went to the regions of Syria(AD) and Cilicia.(AE)

21 Then I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.

22 but I was unknown {in person} to the churches of Judea [that are] in Christ,

22 I was still unknown by (m)sight to (AT)the churches of Judea which were (AU)in Christ;

22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

22 I remained personally unknown to the Judean churches in Christ;

22 But the churches of the Messiah that are in Judea did not yet know me personally.

23 and they were only hearing, "The one formerly persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith that formerly he was attempting to destroy,"

23 but only, they kept hearing, “He who once persecuted us is now preaching (AV)the faith which he once (AW)tried to destroy.”

23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

23 they simply kept hearing: “He who formerly persecuted(AF) us now preaches the faith(AG) he once tried to destroy.”

23 The only thing they kept hearing was this: "The man who used to persecute us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy!"

24 and they were glorifying God because of me.

24 And they (AX)were glorifying God (n)because of me.

24 And they glorified God in me.

24 And they glorified God because of me.

24 So they kept glorifying God for what had happened to me.
