Carry One Another's Burdens

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, do you, who are spiritual, restore him with all gentleness, taking heed lest you yourselves be overcome by temptation.

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

1 (A)Brethren, even if (a)anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are (B)spiritual, (C)restore such a one (D)in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.

1 Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle(A) spirit,(B) watching out for yourselves so you also won’t be tempted.(C)

1 Brothers, if a person is caught doing something wrong, those of you who are spiritual should restore that person gently. Watch out for yourself so that you are not tempted as well.

2 bear with one another's infirmities, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

2 (E)Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill (F)the law of Christ.

2 Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.(D)

2 Practice carrying each other's burdens. In this way you will fulfill the law of the Messiah.

3 for if a man thinks himself to be considerable, when he is not, he deceives himself.

3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

3 For (G)if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

3 For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing,(E) he deceives himself.

3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is really nothing, he is only fooling himself.

4 but let every one bring his own work to the test, and then he will have matter of glorying in himself alone, and not in another.

4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

4 But each one must (H)examine his own work, and then he will have reason for (I)boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.

4 But each person should examine his own work,(F) and then he will have a reason for boasting in himself alone, and not in respect to someone else.

4 Each person must examine his own actions, and then he can boast about his own accomplishments and not about someone else.

5 for every man must be answerable for his own actions.

5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

5 For (J)each one will bear his own load.

5 For each person will have to carry his own load.

5 For everyone must carry his own load.

Do Good To All People

6 Let him that is instructed in the word freely communicate his good things to him that teaches him.

6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

6 (K)The one who is taught (L)the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.

6 The one who is taught the message must share(G) all his good things with the teacher.

6 The person who is taught the word should share all his goods with his teacher.

Life Is Like Planting A Field

7 be not deceived, God will not be mocked: for what a man soweth, that shall he also reap:

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

7 (M)Do not be deceived, (N)God is not mocked; for (O)whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

7 Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap,

7 Stop being deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants:

8 he that soweth to his vices, shall reap the deadly fruit of his vices; but he that sows to the spirit, shall of the spirit reap everlasting life.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

8 (P)For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap (Q)corruption, but (R)the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

8 because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit(H) will reap eternal life(I) from the Spirit.

8 The person who sows through human means will harvest decay from human means, but the person who sows in the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit.

9 let us then not be weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we be not tired.

9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

9 (S)Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we (T)do not grow weary.

9 So we must not get tired(J) of doing good,(K) for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.

9 Let's not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

10 therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good offices to all men, especially to the family of believers.

10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

10 So then, (b)(U)while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the (V)household of (W)the faith.

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work(L) for the good(M) of all, especially for those who belong to the household(N) of faith.(O)

10 So then, whenever we have the opportunity, let's practice doing good to everyone, especially to the family of faith.

A Final Warning

11 You see how long a letter I have writ to you with my own hand.

11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.

11 See with what large letters I (c)am writing to you (X)with my own hand.

11 Look at what large letters I use as I write to you in my own handwriting.

11 Look at how large these letters are because I am writing with my own hand!

12 they who desire to make a figure in the world, constrain you to be circumcised, only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.

12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.

12 Those who desire (Y)to make a good showing in the flesh try to (Z)compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they (AA)will not be persecuted (d)for the cross of Christ.

12 Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh(P) are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised(Q)—but only to avoid being persecuted(R) for the cross(S) of Christ.

12 These people who want to impress others by their external appearance are trying to force you to be circumcised, simply to avoid being persecuted for the cross of the Messiah.

13 for even they who are circumcised, do not themselves observe the law in other respects; but they dedesire to have you circumcised, that they may have matter of glorying upon that account.

13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.

13 For those who (e)are circumcised do not even (AB)keep (f)the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may (AC)boast in your flesh.

13 For even the circumcised don’t keep(T) the law themselves; however, they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh.

13 Why, not even those who are circumcised obey the Law! They simply want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your external appearance.

14 but far be it from me that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world is as contemptible to me, as I am to the world.

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

14 But (AD)may it never be that I would boast, (AE)except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, (AF)through (g)which the world has been crucified to me, and (AG)I to the world.

14 But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.

14 But may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world!

15 for in the dispensation of Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but the new creation.

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

15 For (AH)neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a (AI)new (h)creation.

15 For(a) both circumcision and uncircumcision(U) mean nothing; what matters instead is a new creation.(V)

15 For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. Rather, what matters is being a new creation.

16 as many as walk by this rule, peace and mercy be on them, even upon the Israel of God.

16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

16 And those who will (i)walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the (AJ)Israel of God.

16 May peace come to all those who follow this standard, and mercy to the Israel(W) of God!

16 Now may peace be on all those who live by this principle, and may mercy be on the Israel of God.

Conclusion And Benediction

17 from henceforth let no man give me trouble; for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

17 From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the (AK)brand-marks of Jesus.

17 From now on, let no one cause me trouble, because I bear on my body scars for the cause of Jesus.(X)

17 Let no one make any more trouble for me, because I carry the scars of Jesus on my own body.
