And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him There He a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. made for them a statute and regulation, and there He tested them.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold,
I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction.
You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.
you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the Lord your God is
testing you to find out if you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
in order to
test Israel by them, whether they will keep the way of the Lord to walk in it as their fathers did, or not.”
2 Samuel 24:1
Now again the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and it incited David against them to say, “ Go, number Israel and Judah.”
2 Chronicles 32:31
Even in the matter of
the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone only to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.
The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold,
the Lord tests hearts.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and
God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was offering up his only begotten son;
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
1 Peter 1:7
so that the
proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Behold, here i am
Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the
lamb for the burnt offering?”
When the Lord saw that he turned aside to look,
God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
Then I heard the
voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
