11 So Israel set out with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

11 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.

11 Israel set out with all that he had and came to Beer-sheba, and he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

11 Later, Israel began his journey, taking along everything that he owned, and arrived at Beer-sheba, where he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

11 So Israel made his journey with all that he had and came to Beersheba [a place hallowed by sacred memories] and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

22 God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, "Jacob, Jacob." And he said, "Here I am."

22 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.

22 That night God spoke to Israel in a vision: "Jacob, Jacob!" He said. And Jacob replied, "Here I am."

22 God spoke to Israel through night visions, addressing him, "Jacob! Jacob!" "Here I am!" Jacob replied.

22 And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night, and said, Jacob! Jacob! And he said, Here am I.

33 He said, "I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation there.

33 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

33 God said, "I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation there.

33 "I'm God, your father's God. Don't be afraid to move down to Egypt, because I'm going to turn you into a mighty nation there.

33 And He said, I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will there make of you a great nation.

44 "I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will close your eyes."

44 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.

44 I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also bring you back. Joseph will put his hands on your eyes."

44 I'm going down with you to Egypt, and I'm certainly going to bring you back again. And Joseph himself will be with you when you die."

44 I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you [your people Israel] up again; and Joseph will put his hand upon your eyes [when they are about to close in death].

55 Then Jacob arose from Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob and their little ones and their wives in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

55 And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

2828 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.

2828 Now Jacob had sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to prepare for his arrival at Goshen. When they came to the land of Goshen,

2828 Jacob sent Judah ahead of them to meet with Joseph, who would be guiding them to Goshen, and so they arrived.

2828 And he sent Judah before him to Joseph, to direct him to Goshen and meet him there; and they came into the land of Goshen.

2929 Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; as soon as he appeared before him, he fell on his neck and wept on his neck a long time.

2929 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

2929 Joseph hitched [the horses to] his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel. Joseph presented himself to him, threw his arms around him, and wept for a long time.

2929 Joseph prepared his chariot and went to meet his father Israel in Goshen. As soon as Jacob appeared in his presence, he embraced him and wept for a long time as he held on to him.

2929 Then Joseph made ready his chariot and went up to meet Israel his father in Goshen; and he presented himself and gave distinct evidence of himself to him [that he was Joseph], and [each] fell on the [other's] neck and wept on his neck a good while.

3030 Then Israel said to Joseph, "Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive."

3030 And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive.

3030 Then Israel said to Joseph, "At last I can die, now that I have seen your face [and know] you are still alive!"

3030 "Now let me die," Israel told Joseph, "since I've seen your face and confirmed that you're still alive!"

3030 And Israel said to Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen your face [and know] that you are still alive.

3131 Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's household, "I will go up and tell Pharaoh, and will say to him, 'My brothers and my father's household, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me;

3131 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;

3131 Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's household, "I will go up and inform Pharaoh, telling him: My brothers and my father's household, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.

3131 But Joseph addressed his brothers and his father's household and told them, "I'll go up and tell Pharaoh that my brothers and my father's household have arrived from Canaan to be with me.

3131 Joseph said to his brothers and to his father's household, I will go up and tell Pharaoh and say to him, My brothers and my father's household, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.

3232 and the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock; and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.'

3232 And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.

3232 The men are shepherds; indeed they raise livestock. They have brought their sheep and cattle and all that they have.

3232 I'll mention that the men are shepherds. Because they've been taking care of livestock, they brought along their flocks, their herds, and everything else that they own.

3232 And the men are shepherds, for their occupation has been keeping livestock, and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.

3333 "When Pharaoh calls you and says, 'What is your occupation?'

3333 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation?

3333 When Pharaoh addresses you and asks, 'What is your occupation?'

3333 When Pharaoh calls for you and asks you "What's your occupation?'

3333 When Pharaoh calls you and says, What is your occupation?

3434 you shall say, 'Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers,' that you may live in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is loathsome to the Egyptians."

3434 That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

3434 you are to say, 'Your servants, both we and our fathers, have raised livestock from our youth until now.' Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of Goshen, since all shepherds are abhorrent to Egyptians."

3434 you are to tell him, "Your servants have been taking care of livestock since we were youths. We and our ancestors have taken care of livestock.' That way, you'll be able to live in the Goshen territory, since shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians."

3434 You shall say, Your servants' occupation has been as keepers of livestock from our youth until now, both we and our fathers before us -- "in order that you may live in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.
