²⁸ Therefore, [since we] are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be thankful, through which let us serve God acceptably, with awe and reverence. ²⁹ For indeed our God [is] a consuming fire.

Deuteronomy 4:24

for Yahweh your God [is] a devouring fire, a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 9:3

You should know {today} that Yahweh your God is the one crossing {ahead of you} [as] a devouring fire; he will destroy them, and he will subdue them before you; so you will dispossess them, and you will destroy them quickly, {just as} Yahweh {promised} you.
