This is the heavy burden upon Egypt: Behold, the LORD will ride upon a swift cloud, and come into Egypt. And the idols of Egypt shall tremble at his coming, and the heart of Egypt shall quake within her.

"For I will go about in the land of Egypt this same night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of man and beast, and upon all the gods of Egypt will I the LORD do execution.

And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did faint. And there remained no more courage in any man for fear of your coming. For the LORD your God; he is the God in heaven above, and on the earth beneath.

Egypt shall go to ruin, and Edom shall be a desert and a wilderness, which oppressed the children of Israel, and which shed innocent blood in their land.

Behold, he cometh with clouds, and all eyes shall see him: and they also which pierced him. And all kindreds of the earth shall wail. Even so, amen.

who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters, and maketh the clouds thy chariot, and walketh upon the wings of the wind.

This is the heavy burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amos did see.

"Preach among the Gentiles, let your voice be heard, make a token: cry out, keep no silence, but say, 'Babylon shall be won, Bel shall be confounded, and Merodach shall be overcome. Yea their gods shall be brought to shame and their images shall stand in fear.'

In the tenth year, upon the twelfth day of the tenth Month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

And thus sayeth the LORD God: I will destroy the Idols, and bring the images of Noph to an end. There shall no more be a prince of Egypt, and a fearfulness will I send into the Egyptians' land.

The nations heard, and were afraid. Pangs came upon the Philistines.

There is none like unto the God of Israel: he that sitteth upon heaven shall be thine help, whose glory is in the clouds:

and said unto the men, "I know that the LORD hath given you the land, both because that the fear of you is fallen upon us, and because that the inhabiters of the land faint at your coming.

And they said unto Joshua, "The LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land, for all the inhabiters of the country faint for fear of us."

and brought it unto the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

He rode upon the Cherub, and did fly: he came flying upon the wings of the wind. {TYNDALE: And he rode upon Cherub and flew: and appeared upon the wings of the wind.}

O sing unto God, sing praises to his name; magnify him that rideth upon the heavens, as it were upon a horse. Praise him in his name Jah, and rejoice before him.

who sitteth in the heavens over all from the beginning. Lo, he doth send out his voice, yea and that a mighty voice.

O that my words might please him, for my joy is in the LORD.

Then shall all hands be letten down, and all men's hearts shall melt away;

Then shall the Egyptians be like unto women, afraid and astounded, at the motion of the hands which the LORD of Hosts shall shake over them.

And behold, here cometh a chariot of men with two horsemen." And he answered and said, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen! She is turned upside down, and all the images of her gods are smitten to the ground!"

Bel is fallen, and Nebo is broken down: whose images were a burden for the beasts and cattle, to overladen them, and to make them weary.

Yea, and Pharaoh the king of Egypt, his servants, his princes and his people altogether one with another;

And in Tahpenes the word of the LORD happened unto Jeremiah, saying,

Take this for a token, that I will visit you in this place, sayeth the LORD, and that ye may know, how that I, without doubt, will perform my purpose upon you to punish you.

Here follow the words of the LORD to the prophet Jeremiah which he spake unto the Gentiles.

Moreover, I will visit Bel at Babylon: and the thing that he hath swallowed up, that same shall I pluck out of his mouth. The Gentiles also shall run no more unto him; yea, and the walls of Babylon shall fall.

He shall go upon the sea of trouble, and smite the sea waves: so that all the deep floods shall be dried up. The proud boasting of Assyria shall be cast down, and the scepter of Egypt shall be taken away.

If the kindred of Egypt go not up, and come not, it shall not rain upon them neither. This shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all Heathen, that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Jesus said to him, "Thou hast said. Nevertheless I say unto you, hereafter shall ye see the son of man sitting on the righthand of power, and come in the clouds of the sky."
