The Ransomed Return To Zion

1 They joy from the wilderness and dry place, And rejoice doth the desert, and flourish as the rose,

1 The (A)wilderness and the desert will be glad,And the (a)(B)Arabah will rejoice and blossom;Like the crocus

1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

1 "The desert and the dry land will rejoice; the desert will celebrate and blossom. Like crocuses,

2 Flourishing it doth flourish, and rejoice, Yea, with joy and singing, The honour of Lebanon hath been given to it, The beauty of Carmel and Sharon, They -- they see the honour of Jehovah, The majesty of our God.

2 It will (C)blossom profuselyAnd (D)rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.The (E)glory of Lebanon will be given to it,The majesty of (F)Carmel and Sharon.They will see the (G)glory of the Lord,The majesty of our God.

2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

2 It will blossom abundantlyand will also rejoice with joy and singing.The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,the splendor of Carmel and Sharon.(B)They will see the glory of the Lord,(C)the splendor of our God.(D)

2 it will burst into bloom, and rejoice with gladness and shouts of joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.

3 Strengthen ye the feeble hands, Yea, the stumbling knees strengthen.

3 (H)Encourage the (b)exhausted, and strengthen the (c)feeble.

3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

3 Strengthen the weak hands,steady the shaking knees!(E)

3 Strengthen the feeble hands, and support the stumbling knees.

4 Say to the hastened of heart, 'Be strong, Fear not, lo, your God; vengeance cometh, The recompence of God, He Himself doth come and save you.'

4 Say to those with (I)anxious heart,“Take courage, fear not.Behold, your God will come with (J)vengeance;The (K)recompense of God will come,But He will (L)save you.”

4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

4 Say to the cowardly:“Be strong; do not fear!Here is your God; vengeance is coming.(F)God’s retribution is coming; He will save you.”(G)

4 Say to those with anxious hearts, "Be strong, do not be afraid! Here is your God he will bring vengeance, he will bring divine retribution, and he will save you.'

5 Then opened are eyes of the blind, And ears of the deaf are unstopped,

5 Then the (M)eyes of the blind will be openedAnd the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

5 Then the eyes of the blind will be opened,and the ears of the deaf unstopped.(H)

5 "Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf unblocked;

6 Then leap as a hart doth the lame, And sing doth the tongue of the dumb, For broken up in a wilderness have been waters, And streams in a desert.

6 Then the (N)lame will leap like a deer,And the (O)tongue of the mute will shout for joy.For waters will break forth in the (P)wildernessAnd streams in the (d)Arabah.

6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

6 Then the lame will leap like a deer,(I)and the tongue of the mute will sing for joy,(J)for water will gush in the wilderness,and streams in the desert;(K)

6 then the lame will leap like deer, and the tongues of speechless people will sing for joy. Yes, waters will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will run through the desert;

7 And the mirage hath become a pond, And the thirsty land fountains of waters, In the habitation of dragons, Its place of couching down, a court for reed and rush.

7 The (e)scorched land will become a poolAnd the thirsty ground (Q)springs of water;In the (R)haunt of jackals, its resting place,Grass becomes reeds and rushes.

7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

7 the parched ground will become a pool of water,and the thirsty land springs of water.(L)In the haunt of jackals,(M) in their lairs,there will be grass, reeds, and papyrus.

7 the burning sands will become a pool, and the thirsty ground fountains of water. In the haunts of jackals there will be a verdant resting place with reeds and rushes."

8 And a highway hath been there, and a way, And the 'way of holiness' is called to it, Not pass over it doth the unclean, And He Himself is by them, Whoso is going in the way -- even fools err not.

8 (S)A highway will be there, (T)a roadway,And it will be called the Highway of (U)Holiness.The unclean will not travel on it,But it will be for him who walks that way,And (V)fools will not wander on it.

8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

8 A road will be there and a way;(N)it will be called the Holy Way.(O)The unclean will not travel on it,(P)but it will be for the one who walks the path.(Q)Even the fool will not go astray.

8 "A highway will be there yes, there and people will call it "The Holy Way'. As for unclean people, they will not journey on it, but it will be for whomever is traveling on that Way not even fools will get lost.

9 No lion is there, yea, a destructive beast Ascendeth it not, it is not found there, And walked have the redeemed,

9 No (W)lion will be there,Nor will any vicious beast go up on it;(f)These will not be found there.But (X)the redeemed will walk there,

9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:

9 There will be no lion there,and no vicious beast will go up on it;they will not be found there.But the redeemed will walk on it,

9 No lions will be there no nor will any ferocious beasts get up on it, and they will not be found there. "But the redeemed will walk there,

10 And the ransomed of Jehovah return, And have entered Zion with singing. And joy age-during on their head, Joy and gladness they attain, And fled away have sorrow and sighing!

10 And (Y)the ransomed of the Lord will returnAnd come with joyful shouting to Zion,With everlasting joy upon their heads.They will (g)find gladness and joy,And (Z)sorrow and sighing will flee away.

10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

10 and the redeemed of the Lord will return(R)and come to Zion with singing,crowned with unending joy.Joy and gladness will overtake them,and sorrow and sighing will flee.(S)

10 and the LORD's ransomed ones will return and enter Zion with singing. Everlasting joy will rest upon their heads, gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and mourning will flee away."
