1 Awake, awake, Put on thy strength, O Zion, - Fur on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem - thou holy city, For there shah not again come into thee any more the uncircumcised and unclean.
1 (A)Awake, awake,Clothe yourself in your strength, O Zion;Clothe yourself in your (B)beautiful garments,O Jerusalem, the (C)holy city; For the uncircumcised and the (D)uncleanWill no longer come into you.
1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
1 Awake, awake! Clothe yourself with strength, O Zion! Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city, for the uncircumcised and the unclean won't enter you.
2 Shake thyself from the dust arise - sit down O Jerusalem, - Loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive! daughter of Zion!
2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
2 Shake yourself from the dust and arise, and sit on your throne, O Jerusalem! Loosen the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For, thus, saith Yahweh, For nought, ye sold yourselves, - And not with silver, shall ye be redeemed,
3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.
3 For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing, and you'll be redeemed without money."
4 For, thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, To Egypt, went down my people at first to sojourn there, - But, Assyria, without cause, hath oppressed him.
4 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
4 For this is what the LORD says: "My people went down long ago into Egypt to live there; the Assyrian, too, has oppressed them without cause.
5 Now, therefore, what do I here? Demandeth Yahweh. That my people have been taken away for nought? They who rule them, do howl, Declareth Yahweh, And, continually - all the day, is my Name brought into contempt.
5 Now therefore, what do I have here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that My people have been taken away without cause?” Again the Lord declares, “Those who rule over them howl, and My (L)name is continually blasphemed all day long.
5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
5 So now what have I here”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“that My people are taken away for nothing? Its rulers wail”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“and My name is continually blasphemed all day long.(F)
5 "Now therefore, what am I doing here," asks the LORD, "seeing that my people are taken away without cause? Those who rule over them are deluded," says the LORD, "and continuously, all the day long, my name is blasphemed.
6 Therefore, shall my people acknowledge my Name: Therefore, in that day, shall they acknowledge that, I, am the same, even I who am speaking, - Here, I am,
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.
6 Therefore my people will know my name; in that day they'll know that it is I who speaks, "Here I am!'
7 How beautiful, upon the mountains are the feet - Of him That bringeth good tidings, That publisheth peace, That bringeth good tidings of blessing, That publisheth salvation, - That saith unto Zion, Thy God, hath become king.
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
7 "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the one who brings news of peace, who announces good things, who announces salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!'
8 The voice of thy watchmen! They have uplifted a voice Together, do they renew the shout of triumph, - For eye to eye, shall they see, When Yahweh returneth to Zion.
8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
8 Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices, together they sing for joy; for they will see in plain sight the return of the LORD to Zion with compassion.
9 Break forth, shout in triumph together, ye waste places of Jerusalem, - For Yahweh Hath comforted his people, Hath redeemed Jerusalem:
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
9 "Break forth together into singing, you ruins of Jerusalem; for the LORD has comforted his people, and he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 Yahweh hath bared his holy arm, in the eyes of all the nations, So shall all the ends of the earth see the salvation of our God.
10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
10 The LORD has bared his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.
11 Away! away! come, forth from thence! - Nought unclean, may ye touch, - Come forth out of her midst, Purify yourselves, ye who are to carry the vessels of Yahweh;
11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
11 "Depart! Depart! Go out from there; touch no unclean thing; go out from the midst of her; purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of the LORD.
12 For, not in haste, shall ye come forth, Nor, by flight, shall ye journey, - For, your van-guard, is Yahweh, And, your rear-guard, the God of Israel.
12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.
12 For you won't go out in haste, nor will you go in flight; for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rear guard. He is called the God of all the earth."
13 Lo! my Servant, prospereth, - He riseth, and is lifted up, and becometh very high:
13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
13 "Look! My servant will prosper, and he will be exalted and lifted up, and will be very high.
14 The more that Many, were amazed at thee, So marred, beyond any man's, was his appearance, - And his form, beyond the sons of men,
14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
14 Just as many were astonished at you so was he marred in his appearance, more than any human, and his form beyond that of human semblance
15 The more doth he startle Many nations, Before him, have kings closed their mouth, - For, that which had not been related to them, have they seen, And that which they had not heard, haw they diligently considered.
15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
15 so will he startle many nations. Kings will shut their mouths at him; for what had not been told them they will see, and what they had not heard they will understand.
