God's Relationship With His People
1 “At that time,” says the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”
1 At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
1 “At that time,” declares the Lord, “I will be the (A)God of all the (B)families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”
1 “At that time”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“I will be the God of all the families of Israel,(A) and they will be My people.”
1 "At that time," declares the LORD, "I'll be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people."
2 Thus says the Lord,“The people who survived the swordFound grace in the wilderness [of exile]—Israel (the Northern Kingdom), when it went to find its rest.”
2 Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
2 Thus says the Lord,“The people who survived the sword(C)Found grace in the wilderness—Israel, when it went to (D)find its rest.”
2 This is what the Lord says:They found favor in the wilderness(B)—the people who survived the sword.When Israel went to find rest,

3 The Lord appeared to me ((a)Israel) from ages past, saying,“I have loved you with an everlasting love;Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.(A)
3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
3 The Lord appeared to (a)him from afar, saying,“I have (E)loved you with an everlasting love;Therefore I have drawn you with (F)lovingkindness.
3 the Lord appeared to him(a) from far away.I have loved you with an everlasting love;therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you.(C)
3 The LORD appeared to Israel from far away and said, "I've loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I've drawn you with gracious love.
4 “Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt,O Virgin Israel!You will again be adorned with your tambourines and (b)timbrelsAnd go out to the dances of those who celebrate.(B)
4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
4 “(G)Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt,O virgin of Israel!Again you will (b)take up your (H)tambourines,And go forth to the dances of the (I)merrymakers.
4 Again I will build you so that you will be rebuilt,Virgin Israel.You will take up your tambourines again(D)and go out in joyful dancing.
4 I'll again build you, and you will be rebuilt, Virgin Israel! You will again take up your tambourines and go out to dance with those who are filled with joy.
5 “Again you will plant vineyardsOn the mountains of Samaria;The planters will plantAnd enjoy the [abundant] fruit [in peace].
5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.
5 “Again you will (J)plant vineyardsOn the (c)hills of Samaria;The planters will plantAnd will (d)enjoy them.
5 You will plant vineyards againon the mountains of Samaria;the planters will plant and will enjoy the fruit.(E)
5 You will again plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria where planters had planted and defiled the fruit.
6 “For there will be a day when the watchmenOn the hills of Ephraim cry out,‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,To the Lord our God.’”
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.

6 For there will be a day when watchmen will call outin the hill country of Ephraim,“Get up, let’s go up to Zion,(F)to Yahweh our God!”

God's People Brought Home
7 For thus says the Lord,“Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob,And shout for the first and foremost of the nations [the chosen people, Israel];Proclaim, give praise and say,‘O Lord save Your people,The remnant of Israel!’
7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
7 For thus says the Lord,“(L)Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob,And shout among the (e)(M)chief of the nations;Proclaim, give praise and say,‘O Lord, (N)save Your people,The (O)remnant of Israel.’
7 For this is what the Lord says:Sing with joy for Jacob;shout for the chief of the nations!Proclaim, praise, and say,“Lord, save Your people,(G)the remnant of Israel!”
7 For this is what the LORD says: "Cry out with joy for Jacob and shout for the chief among the nations. Announce, give praise, and say, "Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.'
8 “Behold, I am bringing them from the north country,And I will gather them from the remote parts of the earth,Among them [will be] the blind and the lame,The woman with child and she who labors in childbirth, together;A great company, they will return here [to Jerusalem].
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
8 “Behold, I am (P)bringing them from the north country,And I will (Q)gather them from the remote parts of the earth,Among them the (R)blind and the (S)lame,The woman with child and she who is in labor with child, together;A great (f)company, they will return here.
8 Watch! I am going to bring them from the northern land.I will gather them from remote regions of the earth(H)—the blind and the lame will be with them,along with those who are pregnant and those about to give birth.They will return here as a great assembly!(I)
8 Look, I'm bringing them from the northern region, and I'll gather them from the farthest parts of the earth. among them will be the blind and the lame, together with the pregnant woman and the woman in labor. A large group will return here.
9 “They will come with weeping [in repentance and for joy],And by [their] prayer [for the future] I will lead them;I will make them walk by streams of waters,On a straight path in which they will not stumble,For I am a Father to Israel,And Ephraim (Israel) is My firstborn.”
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
9 “(T)With weeping they will come,And by supplication I will lead them;I will make them walk by (U)streams of waters,On a straight path in which they will (V)not stumble;For I am a (W)father to Israel,And Ephraim is (X)My firstborn.”
9 They will come weeping,but I will bring them back with consolation.(b)(J)I will lead them to wadis filled with waterby a smooth way where they will not stumble,(K)for I am Israel’s Father,and Ephraim is My firstborn.
9 They'll come crying, and I'll lead them as they pray for mercy. I'll make them walk by streams of water, along a straight path on which they won't stumble. For I am Israel's father, and Ephraim is my firstborn."
10 Hear the word of the Lord, O you nations,And declare it in the isles and coastlands far away,And say, “He who scattered Israel will gather himAnd will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
10 Hear the word of the Lord, O nations,And declare in the (Y)coastlands afar off,And say, “He who scattered Israel will (Z)gather himAnd keep him as a (AA)shepherd keeps his flock.”
10 Nations, hear the word of the Lord,and tell it among the far off coastlands!(L)Say: The One who scattered Israel will gather him.He will watch over him as a shepherd guards his flock,
10 Nations, listen to this message from the LORD, and declare it in the distant coastlands. Say, "The one who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock."
11 For the Lord has ransomed JacobAnd has redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.
11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
11 For the Lord has (AB)ransomed JacobAnd redeemed him from the hand of him who was (AC)stronger than he.
11 For the LORD will deliver Jacob and redeem him from the hand of one stronger than he.
12 “They will come and sing aloud and shout for joy on the height of Zion,And will be radiant [with joy] over the goodness of the Lord—For the grain, for the new wine, for the oil,And for the young of the flock and the herd.And their life will be like a watered garden,And they shall never sorrow or languish again.
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
12 “They will (AD)come and shout for joy on the (AE)height of Zion,And they will be (AF)radiant over the (g)bounty of the Lord—Over the (AG)grain and the new wine and the oil,And over the young of the (AH)flock and the herd;And their life will be like a (AI)watered garden,And they will (AJ)never languish again.
12 They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion;they will be radiant with joy(N)because of(O) the Lord’s goodness,because of the grain, the new wine, the fresh oil,(P)and because of the young of the flocks and herds.Their life will be like an irrigated garden,and they will no longer grow weak from hunger.
12 They'll come and cry out with joy on the heights of Zion. They'll be radiant over the LORD's goodness, over the grain, the new wine, the fresh oil, and over the young of the flocks and herds. Their lives will be like a well-watered garden. They'll never again grow faint.
13 “Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,And the young men and old, together,For I will turn their mourning into joyAnd will comfort them and make them rejoice after their sorrow.
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
13 “Then the virgin will rejoice in the (AK)dance,And the young men and the old, together,For I will (AL)turn their mourning into joyAnd will comfort them and give them (AM)joy for their sorrow.
13 Then the young woman will rejoice with dancing,while young and old men rejoice together.I will turn their mourning into joy,(Q)give them consolation,and bring happiness out of grief.
13 The virgins will rejoice with dancing, together with young men and old men. For I'll turn their mourning into joy, and I'll comfort them and give them gladness instead of sorrow.
14 “I will fully satisfy the soul of the priests with abundance,And My people will be satisfied with My goodness,” says the Lord.
14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
14 “I will (h)fill the soul of the priests with (i)abundance,And My people will be (AN)satisfied with My goodness,” declares the Lord.
14 I will refresh the priests with an abundance,(c)(R)and My people will be satisfied with My goodness.This is the Lord’s declaration.
14 I'll give the priests abundant provisions, and my people will be satisfied with my goodness," declares the LORD.
Lament Turned To Joy
15 Thus says the Lord,“A (c)voice is heard in Ramah,Lamentation (songs of mourning) and bitter weeping.Rachel (Israel) is weeping for her children;She refuses to be comforted for her children,Because they are gone.”(C)
15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
15 Thus says the Lord,“(AO)A voice is heard in (AP)Ramah,Lamentation and bitter weeping.Rachel is weeping for her children;She (AQ)refuses to be comforted for her children,Because (AR)they are no more.”
15 This is what the Lord says:A voice was heard in Ramah,a lament with bitter weeping—Rachel weeping for her children,refusing to be comforted for her childrenbecause they are no more.(S)
15 This is what the LORD says: "A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter crying. Rachel is crying, and she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no longer alive."
16 Thus says the Lord,“Restrain your voice from weepingAnd your eyes from tears,For your work will be rewarded,” says the Lord;“And your children will return from the enemy’s land.
16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
16 Thus says the Lord,“(AS)Restrain your voice from weepingAnd your eyes from tears;For your (AT)work will be rewarded,” declares the Lord,“And they will (AU)return from the land of the enemy.
16 This is what the Lord says:Keep your voice from weepingand your eyes from tears,for the reward for your work will come—this is the Lord’s declaration—and your children will return from the enemy’s land.
16 This is what the LORD says: "Restrain your voice from crying, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work," declares the LORD. "They'll return from the enemy's land.
17 “There is [confident] hope for your future,” says the Lord;“Your children will come back to their own country.
17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
17 “There is (AV)hope for your future,” declares the Lord,“And your children will return to their own territory.
17 There is hope for your future(T)—this is the Lord’s declaration—and your children will return to their own territory.
17 There is hope for your future," declares the LORD. "Your children will return to their own territory."
18 “I have surely heard Ephraim (Israel) moaning and grieving,‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised,Like a bull unaccustomed to the yoke or an untrained calf;Bring me back that I may be restored,For You are the Lord my God.
18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
18 “I have surely heard Ephraim (AW)grieving,‘You have (AX)chastised me, and I was chastised,Like an untrained (AY)calf;(AZ)Bring me back that I may be restored,For You are the Lord my God.
18 I have heard Ephraim moaning,“You disciplined me, and I have been disciplinedlike an untrained calf.Restore me, and I will return,for you, Lord, are my God.(U)
18 "I've certainly heard Ephraim shuddering with grief as they said, "You have disciplined me, and I'm disciplined like an untrained calf. Restore me, and let me return, for you are the LORD my God.
19 ‘After I turned away [from You], I repented;After I was instructed, I struck my thigh [in remorse];I was ashamed and even humiliatedBecause I carried the disgrace of my youth [as a nation].’
19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.
19 ‘For after I turned back, I (BA)repented;And after I was instructed, I (BB)smote on my thigh;I was (BC)ashamed and also humiliatedBecause I bore the reproach of my youth.’
19 After I returned, I repented;After I was instructed, I struck my thigh in grief.(V)I was ashamed and humiliatedbecause I bore the disgrace of my youth.”
19 Indeed, after I turned away, then I repented. And after I came to understand, I slapped my forehead. I was both ashamed and humiliated because I bear the disgrace of my youth.'"
20 “Is Ephraim My dear son?Is he a darling and beloved child?For as often as I have spoken against him,I certainly still remember him.Therefore My affection is renewed and My heart longs for him;I will surely have mercy on him,” says the Lord.
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.
20 “Is (BD)Ephraim My dear son?Is he a delightful child?Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him,I certainly still remember him;Therefore My (j)(BE)heart yearns for him;I will surely (BF)have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.
20 Isn’t Ephraim a precious son to Me,a delightful child?Whenever I speak against him,I certainly still think about him.Therefore, My inner being yearns for him;I will truly have compassion on him.This is the Lord’s declaration.
20 "Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a darling child? Indeed, as often as I've spoken about him, I surely still remember him. Therefore I deeply yearn for him. I'll surely have great compassion on him," declares the LORD.
Repentance And Restoration
21 “Place for yourself road signs [toward Canaan],Make for yourself guideposts;Turn your thought and attention to the highway,To the way by which you went [into exile].Retrace your steps, O virgin of Israel,Return to these your cities.
21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
21 “Set up for yourself roadmarks,Place for yourself guideposts;(BG)Direct your (k)mind to the highway,The way by which you went.(BH)Return, O virgin of Israel,Return to these your cities.
21 Set up road markers(W) for yourself;establish signposts!Keep the highway in mind,the way you have traveled.Return, Virgin Israel!Return to these cities of yours.
21 Set up markers for yourselves. Erect signposts for yourselves. Pay attention to the highway, to the road you traveled. Return, virgin Israel, return to these cities of yours.
22 “How long will you hesitate [to return],O you faithless and renegade daughter?For the Lord has created a (d)new thing in the land [of Israel]:A woman will encompass (tenderly love) a man.”
22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.
22 “How long will you go here and there,O (BI)faithless daughter?For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth—A woman will encompass a man.”
22 How long will you turn here and there,faithless daughter?(X)For the Lord creates something new in the land(d)—a female(e) will shelter(f) a man.
22 How long will you go this way and that, rebellious daughter? Indeed, the LORD will create a new thing on the earth; a woman will protect a man.
The Future Prosperity Of God's People
23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Once more they will speak these words in the land of Judah (the Southern Kingdom) and in her cities when I restore their fortunes and release them from exile,‘The Lord bless you, O habitation of justice and righteousness,O holy mountain!’
23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.
23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I (BJ)restore their (l)fortunes,‘The Lord bless you, O (BK)abode of righteousness,O (BL)holy hill!’
23 This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “When I restore their fortunes,(g) they will once again speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities, ‘May the Lord bless you, righteous settlement,(Y) holy mountain.’(Z)
23 This is what the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, the God of Israel, says: "They'll again speak this message in the land of Judah and its towns when I restore their fortunes: "The LORD bless you, righteous dwelling, holy mountain.'
24 And [the people of] Judah and all its cities will live there together—the farmer and they who wander about with flocks.
24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.
24 Judah and all its cities will (BM)dwell together in it, the farmer and they who go about with flocks.
24 Judah and all its cities will live in it together—also farmers and those who move(h) with the flocks—
24 Judah and all its towns will live together in the land, along with farmers and those who follow the flock.
25 For I [fully] satisfy the weary soul, and I replenish every languishing and sorrowful person.”
25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
25 for I satisfy the thirsty person and feed all those who are weak.”
25 I'll provide abundance for those who are weary, and fill all who are faint."
26 At this I (Jeremiah) awoke and looked, and my [trancelike] sleep was sweet [in the assurance it gave] to me.
26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
26 At this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been most pleasant to me.
26 Then I awoke and looked around, and I had had a pleasant sleep.
The New Covenant
27 “Behold (listen carefully), the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of beast.
27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
27 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will (BQ)sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and with the seed of beast.
27 “The days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will sow the house of Israel(AA) and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast.
27 "Look, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I'll sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah using people and animals as seed.
28 It will be that as I have watched over them to uproot and to break down, to overthrow, destroy, and afflict with disaster, so I will watch over them to build and to plant [with good],” says the Lord.
28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
28 As I have (BR)watched over them to (BS)pluck up, to break down, to overthrow, to destroy and to bring disaster, so I will watch over them to (BT)build and to plant,” declares the Lord.
28 Just as I watched over them to uproot and to tear them down, to demolish and to destroy, and to cause disaster, so will I be attentive to build and to plant them,”(AB) says the Lord.
28 Just as I've watched over them to pull up, tear down, overthrow, destroy, and bring disaster, so I'll watch over them to build and to plant," declares the LORD.
29 “In those days they will not say again,‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’(D)
29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge.
29 “In those days they will not say again,‘(BU)The fathers have eaten sour grapes,And the children’s teeth are (n)set on edge.’
29 “In those days, it will never again be said:The fathers have eaten sour grapes,and the children’s teeth are set on edge.(AC)
29 "In those days people will no longer say, "The fathers have eaten sour grapes, but the children's teeth have been set on edge.'
30 But everyone will die [only] for his own wickedness; every man who eats sour grapes—his [own] teeth shall be set on edge.
30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
30 But (BV)everyone will die for his own iniquity; each man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be (o)set on edge.
30 Rather, each will die for his own wrongdoing.(AD) Anyone who eats sour grapes—his own teeth will be set on edge.
30 Instead, each person will die for his own iniquity. Everyone who eats sour grapes will have his own teeth set on edge."
The New Promise
31 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the (e)house of Israel (the Northern Kingdom) and with the house of Judah (the Southern Kingdom),(E)
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
31 “(BW)Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a (BX)new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
31 “Look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will make a new covenant(AE) with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
31 "Look, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I'll make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” says the Lord.
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
32 not like the (BY)covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I (BZ)took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My (CA)covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord.
32 This one will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant they broke even though I had married them”(AF)—the Lord’s declaration.
32 It won't be like the covenant I made with their ancestors on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. They broke my covenant, although I was a husband to them," declares the LORD.
33 “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” says the Lord, “I will put My law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they will be My people.
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
33 “But (CB)this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “(CC)I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and (CD)I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
33 “Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”—the Lord’s declaration. “I will put My teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.
33 "Rather, this is the covenant that I'll make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD. "I'll put my Law within them and will write it on their hearts. I'll be their God and they will be my people.
34 And each man will no longer teach his neighbor and his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me [through personal experience], from the least of them to the greatest,” says the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness, and I will no longer remember their sin.”(F)
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

The Lord Will Never Leave Israel

36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

38 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when the city [of Jerusalem] will be rebuilt for the Lord from the (f)Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.
38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

39 The measuring line will go out farther straight ahead to the hill Gareb; then it will turn to (g)Goah.

It (the city) will not be uprooted or overthrown anymore to the end of the age.”(G)
40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
40 And (CT)the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook (CU)Kidron, to the corner of the (CV)Horse Gate toward the east, shall be (CW)holy to the Lord; it will not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever.”
40 The whole valley—the corpses, the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Kidron Valley(AO) to the corner of the Horse Gate(AP) to the east—will be holy to the Lord. It will never be uprooted or demolished again.”
40 The whole valley of dead bodies and ashes and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east will be holy to the LORD. It won't be uprooted or overthrown again, forever."
