Jeremiah Is Thrown Into The Pit Of Malchiah

⁶ Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that dwelt in the fore entry of the prison. And they let down Jeremiah with cords into a dungeon, where there was no water, but mire. ⁷ So Jeremiah stuck fast in the mire. Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, being a chamberlain in the king's court, understood that they had cast Jeremiah in to the dungeon: ⁸ he went out of the king's house, and spake to the king, which then sat under the port of Benjamin, these words:
