A Lament For Disobedient Judah

³⁰ The sons of Judah have done what is evil in my sight, declares Jehovah. They placed their detestable things in the house called by my name, to defile it. ³¹ They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, and it did not come into My mind. ³² Days are coming, says Jehovah, when it will no longer be called Topheth, or the valley of the son of Hinnom (Ben-hinnom), but the valley of the Slaughter. They will bury in Topheth because there is no other place.

Deuteronomy 17:3

Some worship and bow down to other gods, the sun, the moon, or the whole army of heaven. I have forbidden this.

Leviticus 18:21

Never give your children as sacrifices to the god Molech by burning them alive. If you do, you are dishonoring the name of your God. I am Jehovah!

He burned his son as a sacrifice in the valley of Ben Hinnom, he consulted fortunetellers, and he cast evil spells. He also practiced witchcraft, and appointed royal mediums and psychics. He did many things that made Jehovah furious.

Psalm 106:37-38

They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.

Jeremiah 19:2

Then go out to the valley of Ben-hinnom (Hinnom Valley), which is by the entrance of the potsherd gate, and proclaim there the words that I tell you.

Jeremiah 19:5-6

Ezekiel 16:20
