Bildad's Third Speech

1 Then Bildad, the Shuhite, answered, and said,

1 Bildad from Shuah responded and said:

2 Dominion and fear are with God; he makes peace in his high places.

2 (A)Dominion and awe (b)belong to HimWho establishes peace in (B)His heights.

2 Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.

2 Dominion and dread(A) belong to Him,the One who establishes harmony in the heavens.(a)

2 "Dominion and fear belong to God; who fashions peace in his high heaven.

3 Is there any number to his armies? And upon whom does his light not arise?

3 “Is there any number to (C)His troops?And upon whom does His light not rise?

3 Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

3 Can His troops be numbered?Does His light not shine on everyone?

3 Is there any limit to his armies? On whom does his light not shine?

4 How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he that is born of a woman be clean?

4 “How then can a man be (D)just with God?Or how can he be (E)clean who is born of woman?

4 How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

4 How can a person be justified before God?(B)How can one born of woman be pure?(C)

4 How can a human being become right with God? How can a human being be pure?

5 Behold, even the moon shall not shine, neither are the stars pure in his sight.

5 “If even (F)the moon has no brightnessAnd the (G)stars are not pure in His sight,

5 Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

5 If even the moon does not shineand the stars are not pure in His sight,(D)

5 Behold, even the moon isn't bright, and the stars aren't pure in his eyes.

6 How much less man, who is as a worm, and the son of man, who is also a worm?

6 How much less (H)man, that (I)maggot,And the son of man, that worm!”

6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

6 how much less man, who is a maggot,and the son of man, who is a worm!(E)

6 How much less is man, who is only a maggot, or a man's children, who are only worms!"
