3 Whom hast thou taught speech? Whose inspiration hath come from thee?
3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?
3 “What counsel you have given to one without wisdom!What helpful insight you have abundantly (c)provided!
3 What counsel you provide to the fool! What insight you provide so abundantly!
God's Power Over Creation
7 Who bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not rent beneath them;
7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
7 He stretches the northern skies over empty space;He hangs the earth on nothing.
7 He spreads out the north over empty space, suspending the earth over nothing.
9 A, boundary, hath he encircled on the face of the waters, as far as where light ends in darkness;
9 He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.
9 He obscures the view of His throne,spreading His cloud over it.
9 He has enclosed the face of the full moon and spread his clouds over it.
10 The pillars of the heavens, are shaken, and are terrified at his rebuke:
10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.
10 “He has inscribed a (I)circle on the surface of the watersAt the (J)boundary of light and darkness.
10 He laid out the horizon on the surface of the waters(H)at the boundary between light and darkness.
10 He has delimited a boundary over the surface of the oceans as a limit between light and darkness.
13 Lo! these, are the fringes of his way, and what a whisper of a word hath been heard of him! But, the thunder of his might, who could understand?
13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
13 He clears the skies with his wind; his hands have pierced the fleeing serpent.
