The Prologue To John's Gospel

³ All things were made by him, and without him was not one single thing made that was made. ⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shineth in darkness, but the darkness perceived it not.

John 5:26

For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son also to have life in himself,

Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
