When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, *came to the tomb. Now it was a
cave, and a stone was lying against it.
“ Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘ Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.
looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He *said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
And He *answered them and *said,
“O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!”
And He *took with Him Peter and
James and John, and began to be very distressed and troubled.
For we do not have
a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.
Joseph hurried out for
he was deeply stirred over his brother, and he sought a place to weep; and he entered his chamber and wept there.
Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried, “Have everyone go out from me.” So there
was no man with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
