Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope.
They reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but
we are disciples of Moses.
Moses alone, however, shall come near to the Lord, but they shall not come near, nor shall the people come up with him.”
“ Moses charged us with a law, A possession for the assembly of Jacob.
You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not fear man, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’
This is the one who was in
the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living oracles to pass on to you.
Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions, having been ordained through angels by the agency of a mediator, until the seed would come to whom the promise had been made.
For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.
“ The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses;
For all who have sinned
without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law;
as it is written,
There is none righteous, not even one;
For those who
are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.
So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill?
For this reason
the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.
picked up stones again to stone Him.
So from that day on they
planned together to kill Him.
Why are the nations in an uproar
And the peoples
devising a vain thing?
And the peoples
But the Pharisees went out and
conspired against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.
But when the vine-growers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’
And He *said to them,
“Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
