3 For thou hadst cast me down deep in the midst of the sea; and the flood compassed me about: and all thy waves and rolls of water went over me.
3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
3 “For You had (D)cast me into the deep,Into the heart of the seas,And the current (c)engulfed me.All Your (E)breakers and billows passed over me.
3 You threw me into the depths,(E)into the heart of the seas,(F)and the current(b) overcame me.All Your breakers and Your billows swept over me.(G)
3 You cast me into the deep into the heart of the sea. Flood waters engulfed me. All your breakers and your waves swirled over me.
4 And I thought that I had been cast away out of thy sight. But I will yet again look toward thy holy temple.
4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
4 “So I said, ‘I have been (F)expelled from (d)Your sight.Nevertheless I will look again (G)toward Your holy temple.’
4 But I said: I have been banished(H)from Your sight,(I)yet I will look once more(c)toward Your holy temple.(J)
4 So I told myself, "I have been driven away from you. How will I again gaze on your holy Temple?'
5 The water compassed me even unto the very soul of me; the deep lay about me, and the weeds were wrapped about mine head.
5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
5 “(H)Water encompassed me to the (e)point of death. The great (I)deep (f)engulfed me,Weeds were wrapped around my head.
5 The waters engulfed me up to the neck;(d)(K)the watery depths overcame me;seaweed was wrapped around my head.(L)

6 And I went down unto the bottom of the hills, and was barred in with earth on every side forever. And yet thou, LORD my God, broughtest up my life again out of corruption.
6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
6 “I (J)descended to the roots of the mountains. The earth with its (K)bars was around me forever,But You have (L)brought up my life from (g)the pit, O Lord my God.
6 I sank to the foundations of the mountains;(M)the earth with its prison bars closed behind me forever!(N)But You raised my life(O) from the Pit, Lord my God!(P)
6 I sank to the roots of the mountains; the earth's prison bars closed around me forever. Yet you resurrect the dead from the Pit, LORD my God!
7 When my soul fainted in me, I thought on the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, even into thy holy temple.
