²⁷ And he said unto him, Thy brother is come, and thy father has killed the fatted calf because he has received him safe and sound. ²⁸ But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. ²⁹ And he, answering, said to his father, Behold, these many years I have served thee, neither at any time have I transgressed thy commandment; and yet thou never gavest me a kid that I might make merry with my friends.
