7 And he proclaimed, saying, There is One coming after me who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down to loosen.
7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
7 He kept proclaiming, "The one who is coming after me is stronger than I am, and I am not worthy to bend down and untie his sandal straps.
8 I indeed have baptized you in water, but He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
8 I baptized you with water, but it is he who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
10 Just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens split open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.
11 And there came a voice from Heaven, saying, You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
11 Then a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you!"
12 And immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.
12 And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.
12 At once the Spirit drove him into the wilderness.
13 And He was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan. And He was with the wild beasts, and the angels ministered to Him.
13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

14 And after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom of God,
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
14 Now after John had been arrested, Jesus went to Galilee and proclaimed the gospel about the kingdom of God.
15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draws near. Repent, and believe the gospel.
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
15 He said, "The time is now! The kingdom of God is near! Repent, and keep believing the gospel!"
16 And walking along beside the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
16 While Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew. They were throwing a net into the sea because they were fishermen.
17 And Jesus said to them, Come after Me and I will make you fishers of men.
17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”
17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
17 Jesus told them, "Follow me, and I'll make you fishers of people!"
19 And when He going farther from there a little, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets.
19 And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
19 Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat repairing their nets.
20 And immediately He called them. And they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and went after Him.
20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
20 He immediately called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.
21 And they went into Capernaum. And immediately on the sabbath day He entered into the synagogue and taught.
21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
21 Then they went to Capernaum. As soon as it was the Sabbaths, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.
22 And they were astonished at His doctrine. For He taught them as one who had authority, and not like the scribes.
22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
22 The people were utterly amazed at his teaching, because he was teaching them like one with authority, and not like their scribes.
23 And in their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,
23 Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
23 All of a sudden, there was a man in their synagogue who had an unclean spirit! He screamed,
24 saying, What is to us and to You, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know You, who You are, the Holy One of God.
24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
24 "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are the Holy One of God!"
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet, and come out of him.
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
25 But Jesus rebuked him. "Be quiet," he ordered, "and come out of him!"
26 And the unclean spirit, convulsing him, and crying with a loud voice, he came out of him.
26 Throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.
26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
26 At this, the unclean spirit shook the man, cried out with a loud voice, and came out of him.
27 They all were amazed, so as to question among themselves, saying, What is this? What new doctrine is this? For He even commands the unclean spirits with authority, and they obey Him.
27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
27 Then they were all amazed,(CJ) so they began to argue(CK) with one another, saying, “What is this? A new teaching(CL) with authority!(o)(CM) He commands even the unclean(CN) spirits,(CO) and they obey Him.”
27 All the people were so stunned that they kept saying to each other, "What is this? A new teaching with authority! He tells even the unclean spirits what to do, and they obey him!"
28 And immediately His fame went out into all the Galilean neighborhood.
28 Immediately the news about Him spread everywhere into all the surrounding district of Galilee.
28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
28 At once his fame began to spread throughout the surrounding region of Galilee.
29 And immediately after they had come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
29 After they left the synagogue, they went directly to the house of Simon and Andrew, along with James and John.
30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and at once they told Him about her.
30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
30 Simon’s mother-in-law was lying in bed with a fever, and they told Him about her at once.
30 Now Simon's mother-in-law was lying in bed, sick with a fever, so they promptly told Jesus about her.
31 And He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. And instantly the fever left her, and she served them.
31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
31 He went up to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began serving them.
32 And at evening, when the sun set, they brought all those who were diseased to Him, and those who had been demon-possessed.
32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
32 When evening came, after the sun had set, people started bringing to him everyone who was sick or possessed by demons.
34 And He healed many who were sick of different diseases, and cast out many demons. And He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. However, he wouldn't allow the demons to speak because they knew who he was.
35 And rising up quite early in the night, He went out and went away into a deserted place, and He was praying there.
35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
35 In the morning, while it was still very dark, Jesus got up and went to a deserted place and prayed there.
37 And finding Him, they said to Him, All are seeking You.
37 they found Him, and *said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”
37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.
37 They found Him and said, “Everyone’s looking for You!”
37 When they found him, they told him, "Everyone's looking for you."
38 And He said to them, Let us go into the next towns so that I may proclaim there also. For that reason I came forth.
38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.
38 "Let's go to the neighboring town," he replied, "so I can preach there, too, because that's why I came."
39 And He proclaimed in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out demons.
39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.
39 So he went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
40 And a leper came to Him, begging Him and kneeling down to Him, and saying to Him, If You will, You can make me clean.
40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
40 Then a leper came to Jesus and began pleading with him. He fell on his knees and told him, "If you want to, you can make me clean."
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put out His hand and touched him, and said to him, I will; be clean!
41 Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and *said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
41 Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and told him, "I do want to. Be made clean!"
42 And He having spoken, the leprosy instantly departed from him and he was cleansed.
42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
42 Instantly the leprosy left him, and he was clean.
43 And He strictly charged him and immediately sent him away,
43 And He sternly warned him and immediately sent him away,
43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
43 Then Jesus sternly warned him and encouraged him to go at once.
44 and He said to him, See that you say nothing to anyone. But go and show yourself to the priest, and offer those things which Moses commanded for your cleansing, for a testimony to them.
44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
44 He told the man, "Be sure that you don't tell anyone. Instead, go and show yourself to the priest, and then offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded as proof to the authorities."
45 But going out, he began to proclaim it very much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places. And they came to Him from every quarter.
45 But he went out and began to (AN)proclaim it freely and to (AO)spread the news around, to such an extent that (u)Jesus could no longer publicly enter a city, but (v)stayed out in unpopulated areas; and (AP)they were coming to Him from everywhere.
45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
45 Yet he went out and began to proclaim(EF) it widely and to spread the news,(EG) with the result that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly. But He was out in deserted places, and they would come to Him from everywhere.
45 But when the man left, he began to proclaim it freely. He spread the news so widely that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly, but had to stay out in deserted places. Still, people kept coming to him from everywhere.
