Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
And when day came,
He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles:
When the apostles returned, they gave an account to Him of all that they had done. Taking them with Him, He withdrew by Himself to a city called Bethsaida.
For this reason also the wisdom of God said, ‘ I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will persecute,
When the hour had come, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him.
drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles.
gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession;
Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her.”
Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
Simon Peter answered, “You are
the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.
And He appointed the twelve:
Simon (to whom He gave the name Peter),
Simon, whom He also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; and
James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;
One of the two who heard John speak and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
When they had entered the city, they went up to
the upper room where they were staying; that is, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

Going on from there He saw two other brothers,
James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them.
Six days later Jesus *took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and *led them up on a high mountain by themselves.
Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.
And He took with Him
Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed.
James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, “Sons of Thunder”);
and so also were
James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “ Do not fear, from now on you will be catching men.”
Simon Peter, and
Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

then He appeared to
James, then to all the apostles;
And Jesus sent
Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”
There was reclining on
Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.
So she *ran and *came to Simon Peter and to the other
disciple whom Jesus loved, and *said to them, “ They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”
Peter, turning around, *saw the
disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”
Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer.

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which

And He *went up on
the mountain and * summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.
