Plucking Grain On The Sabbath

1 At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on the Sabbath. And his disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck off heads of grain and eat [them].

1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

1 At that time Jesus passed through the grainfields on the Sabbath.(A) His disciples(B) were hungry and began to pick and eat some heads of grain.

1 At that time, Jesus walked through the grain fields on a Sabbath. His disciples became hungry and began picking heads of grain to eat.

2 But [when] the Pharisees saw [it], they said to him, "Behold, your disciples are doing what it is not permitted to do on the Sabbath!"

2 But when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath."

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful(C) to do on the Sabbath!”

2 When the Pharisees saw this, they told him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!"

3 So he said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those with him,

3 But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he became hungry, he and his companions,

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

3 He said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry—

3 But he told them, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?

4 how he entered into the house of God and ate the bread of the presentation, which it was not permitted for him or for those with him to eat, but only for the priests?

4 how he entered the house of God, and they ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for him to eat nor for those with him, but for the priests alone?

4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

4 how he entered the house of God, and they ate(a) the sacred bread, which is not lawful for him or for those with him to eat, but only for the priests?(D)

4 How is it that he went into the house of God and ate the Bread of the Presence, which was not lawful for him and his companions to eat but was reserved for the priests?

5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the sanctity of the Sabbath and are guiltless?

5 "Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and are innocent?

5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

5 Or haven’t you read in the Law(b) that on Sabbath days the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath and are innocent?(E)

5 Or haven't you read in the Law that on every Sabbath the priests in the Temple violate the Sabbath and yet are innocent?

6 But I tell you that [something] greater than the temple is here!

6 "But I say to you that something greater than the temple is here.

6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

6 But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here!(F)

6 But I tell you, something greater than the Temple is here!

7 And if you had known what {it means}, 'I want mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.

7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,' you would not have condemned the innocent.

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

7 If you had known what this means: I desire mercy and not sacrifice,(G)(c)you would not have condemned the innocent.

7 If you had known what "I want mercy and not sacrifice' means, you would not have condemned the innocent,

8 For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath."

8 "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

A Man With A Withered Hand Healed

9 And going on from there he came into their synagogue.

9 Departing from there, He went into their synagogue.

9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

9 Moving on from there, He entered their synagogue.(I)

9 Moving on from there, Jesus went into their synagogue.

10 And behold, [there was] a man who had a withered hand, and they asked him, saying, "Is it permitted to heal on the Sabbath?" in order that they could accuse him.

10 And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned Jesus, asking, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"--so that they might accuse Him.

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

10 There He saw a man who had a paralyzed hand. And in order to accuse Him they asked Him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”(J)

10 Suddenly, a man with a paralyzed hand appeared. The people asked Jesus if it was lawful to heal on Sabbath days, intending to accuse him of doing something wrong.

11 But he said to them, "What man will there be among you who will have one sheep and if this one fell into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift [it] out?

11 And He said to them, "What man is there among you who has a sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out?

11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

11 But He said to them, “What man among you, if he had a sheep(d) that fell into a pit on the Sabbath, wouldn’t take hold of it and lift it out?(K)

11 But he asked them, "Is there a man among you who, if he had one sheep and it fell into a ditch on the Sabbath, wouldn't take hold of it and pull it out?

12 Then to what degree [is] a man worth more than a sheep? So then, it is permitted to do good on the Sabbath."

12 "How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

12 A man is worth far more than a sheep,(L) so it is lawful to do what is good on the Sabbath.”

12 How much more is a human being worth than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on Sabbath days."

13 Then he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand," and he stretched [it] out, and it was restored [as] healthy as the other [one].

13 Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand!" He stretched it out, and it was restored to normal, like the other.

13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

13 Then He told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored,(M) as good as the other.

13 Then he told the man, "Hold out your hand." He held it out and it became normal, as healthy as his other hand.

14 But the Pharisees went out {and plotted} against him in order that they could destroy him.

14 But the Pharisees went out and conspired against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.(N)

14 The Pharisees, however, went out and plotted against Jesus to kill him.

God's Chosen Servant

15 Now Jesus, [when he] learned of [it], withdrew from there, and many followed him, and he healed them all.

15 But Jesus, aware of this, withdrew from there. Many followed Him, and He healed them all,

15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

15 When Jesus became aware of this, He withdrew from there. Huge crowds(e) followed Him, and He healed them all.(O)

15 When Jesus became aware of this, he left that place. Many crowds followed him, and he healed all of them,

Jesus Is God's Servant

16 And he warned them that they should not {reveal his identity},

16 and warned them not to tell who He was.

16 And charged them that they should not make him known:

16 He warned them not to make Him known,(P)

16 ordering them not to make him known.

17 in order that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled, who said,

17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

17 so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

17 This was to fulfill what was declared by the prophet Isaiah when he said,

18 "Behold my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

18 "BEHOLD, MY SERVANT WHOM I HAVE CHOSEN; MY BELOVED IN WHOM MY SOUL is WELL-PLEASED; I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT UPON HIM, AND HE SHALL PROCLAIM JUSTICE TO THE GENTILES.

18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

18 Here is My Servant whom I have chosen,My beloved in whom My soul delights;I will put My Spirit on Him,and He will proclaim justice to the nations.(Q)

18 "Here is my Servant whom I have chosen, whom I love, and with whom I am pleased! I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to unbelievers.

19 He will not quarrel or cry out, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

19 "HE WILL NOT QUARREL, NOR CRY OUT; NOR WILL ANYONE HEAR HIS VOICE IN THE STREETS.

19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.

19 He will not argue or shout, and no one will hear His voice in the streets.

19 He will not quarrel or shout, and no one will hear him shouting in the streets.

20 A crushed reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not extinguish, until he brings justice to victory.

20 "A BATTERED REED HE WILL NOT BREAK OFF, AND A SMOLDERING WICK HE WILL NOT PUT OUT, UNTIL HE LEADS JUSTICE TO VICTORY.

20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

20 He will not break a bruised reed, and He will not put out a smoldering wick, until He has led justice to victory.(f)

20 He will not snap off a broken reed or snuff out a smoldering wick until he has brought justice through to victory.

21 And in his name the Gentiles will hope.

21 "AND IN HIS NAME THE GENTILES WILL HOPE."

21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

21 The nations will put their hope in His name.(R)(g)

21 And in his name unbelievers will hope."

A House Divided Cannot Stand

22 Then a demon-possessed man [who was] blind and mute was brought to him. And he healed him so that the [man who was] mute could speak and see.

22 Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw.

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

22 Then a demon-possessed man(S) who was blind and unable to speak was brought to Him. He healed him, so that the man(h) could both speak and see.(T)

22 Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and unable to talk was brought to him. Jesus healed him so that the man could speak and see.

23 And all the crowds were amazed and began saying, "Perhaps this one is the Son of David!"

23 All the crowds were amazed, and were saying, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?"

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?

23 And all the crowds were astounded and said, “Perhaps this is the Son of David!”(U)

23 All the crowds were amazed and kept saying, "This man isn't the Son of David, is he?"

24 But the Pharisees, [when they] heard [it], said, "This man does not expel demons except by Beelzebul the ruler of demons!"

24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons."

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

24 When the Pharisees heard this, they said, “The man drives out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”(V)

24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons."

25 But knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

25 And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

25 Knowing their thoughts,(W) He told them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.

25 He knew what they were thinking and told them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

26 And if Satan expels Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

26 "If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

26 If Satan(X) drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

26 So if Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How, then, can his kingdom stand?

27 And if I expel demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons expel [them]? For this [reason] they will be your judges!

27 "If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges.

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.

27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, who is it your sons drive them out by? For this reason they will be your judges.(Y)

27 If I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own followers drive them out? That is why they will be your judges!

28 But if I expel demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you!

28 "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

28 If I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.(Z)

28 But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

29 Or how can someone enter into the house of a strong [man] and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong [man]? And then he can thoroughly plunder his house.

29 "Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

29 How can someone enter a strong man’s house and steal his possessions unless he first ties up(AA) the strong man? Then he can rob his house.

29 How can someone go into a strong man's house and carry off his possessions without first tying up the strong man? Then he can ransack his house.

30 The one who is not with me is against me, and the one who does not gather with me scatters.

30 "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

30 Anyone who is not with Me is against Me,(AB) and anyone who does not gather with Me scatters.

30 The person who isn't with me is against me, and the person who isn't gathering with me is scattering.

31 For this [reason] I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven!

31 "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

31 Because of this,(AC) I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy,(AD) but the blasphemy against(i) the Spirit will not be forgiven.(j)

31 So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him either in this age or in the coming one!

32 "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man,(AE) it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come.(AF)

32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come."

Good Trees And Good Fruit Or Bad Trees And Bad Fruit

33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit [is] good, or make the tree bad and its fruit [is] bad, for the tree is known by its fruit.

33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad(k) and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.(AG)

33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree rotten and its fruit rotten, because a tree is known by its fruit.

34 Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say good things [when you] are evil? For from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

34 "You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

34 Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow(AH) of the heart.

34 You children of serpents! How can you say anything good when you are evil? The mouth speaks about what overflows from the heart.

35 The good person from his good treasury brings out good [things], and the evil person from his evil treasury brings out evil [things].

35 "The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

35 A good man produces good things from his storeroom of good,(l) and an evil man produces evil things from his storeroom of evil.(AI)

35 A good person brings good things out of a good treasure house, and an evil person brings evil things out of an evil treasure house.

36 But I tell you that every worthless word that they speak, people will give an account for it on the day of judgment!

36 "But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

36 I tell you that on the day of judgment(AJ) people will have to account(AK) for every careless word they speak.(m)

36 I tell you, on Judgment Day people will give an account for every thoughtless word they have uttered,

37 For by your words you will be vindicated, and by your words you will be condemned."

37 "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

37 because by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

The Sign Of Jonah

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him saying, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you!"

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from You."

38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.”(AL)

38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees told Jesus, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."

39 But he answered [and] said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation desires a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah!

39 But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;

39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

39 But He answered them,(AM)“An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.(AN)

39 But he replied to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign. Yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah,

40 For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

40 for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

40 For as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights,(AO) so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

40 because just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea creature for three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

41 The people of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the proclamation of Jonah, and behold, [something] greater than Jonah [is] here!

41 "The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment, and will condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it,(AP) because they repented at Jonah’s proclamation; and look—something greater than Jonah is here!(AQ)

41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment and condemn the people living today, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. But look something greater than Jonah is here!

42 The queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, [something] greater than Solomon [is] here!

42 "The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

42 The queen of the south(AR) will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and look—something greater than Solomon is here!

42 The queen of the south will stand up and condemn the people living today, because she came from so far away to hear the wisdom of Solomon. But look! Something greater than Solomon is here!"

An Unclean Spirit Returns

43 "Now whenever an unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it travels through waterless places searching for rest, and does not find [it].

43 "Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

43 “When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn’t find any.(AS)

43 "Whenever an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it wanders through waterless places looking for a place to rest, but finds none.

44 Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came out.' And [when it] arrives it finds [the house] unoccupied and swept and put in order.

44 "Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came'; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order.

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

44 Then it says, ‘I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ And returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order.

44 Then it says, "I will go back to my home that I left.' When it arrives, it finds it empty, swept clean, and put in order.

45 Then it goes and brings along with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and [they] go in [and] live there. And the last [state] of that person becomes worse than the first. So it will be for this evil generation also!"

45 "Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation."

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

45 Then off it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that man’s last condition is worse than the first.(AT) That’s how it will also be with this evil generation.”

45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and settle there. And so the final condition of that person becomes worse than the first. That's just what will happen to this evil generation!"

Jesus' Mother And Brothers

46 And [while] he was still speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and brothers were standing there outside, desiring to speak to him.

46 While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and brothers were standing outside, seeking to speak to Him.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

46 He(AU) was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly His mother and brothers were standing outside wanting to speak to Him.(AV)

46 While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him.

47 And someone told him, "Behold, your mother and your brothers are standing there outside desiring to speak to you."

47 Someone said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You."

47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

47 Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.”(n)

47 Someone told him, "Look! Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, asking to speak to you."

48 But he answered [and] said to the one who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"

48 But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?"

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

48 But He replied to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”

48 He asked the man who told him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"

49 And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, "Behold my mother and my brothers!

49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, "Behold My mother and My brothers!

49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples,(AW) He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!

49 Then pointing with his hand at his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers,

50 For whoever does the will of my Father [who is] in heaven, he is my brother and sister and mother."

50 "For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother."
