2 The kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a king who made a wedding for his son.
2 “(A)The kingdom of heaven (a)may be compared to (b)a king who (c)gave a (B)wedding feast for his son.
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
2 "The kingdom from heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.
3 And he sent forth his bondmen to call those who were invited to the wedding festivities, and they did not want to come.
3 And he (C)sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come.
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
3 He sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the wedding, but they refused to come.
4 Again he sent forth other bondmen, saying, Speak to those who were invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and my fatlings have been killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding festivities.
4 Again he (D)sent out other slaves saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and everything is ready; come to the wedding feast.”’
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
4 Again, he sent out other slaves, and said, ‘Tell those who are invited: Look, I’ve prepared my dinner; my oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’(D)
4 So he sent other servants after saying, "Tell those who have been invited, "Look! I've prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened calves have been slaughtered. Everything is ready. Come to the wedding!"'
5 But having disregarded, they departed, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
5 “But they paid no attention and went away, one to his own farm, another to his business.
5 But they paid no attention to this and went away, one to his farm, another to his business.
6 and the others having seized his bondmen, abused and killed them.
6 and the rest seized his slaves and mistreated them and killed them.
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
6 And the others seized his slaves, treated them outrageously and killed them.
6 The rest grabbed the king's servants, treated them brutally, and then killed them.
7 But having heard that, the king was angry, and having sent forth his armies, he destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
7 But the king was enraged, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
7 The king(a) was enraged, so he sent out his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned down their city.
7 Then the king became outraged. He sent his troops, and they destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding is indeed ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
8 Then he *said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
8 "Then he told his servants, "The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore to the crossings of the ways, and as many as ye may find, call to the wedding festivities.
9 Go therefore to (E)the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.’
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
9 So go into the roads leading out of town and invite as many people as you can find to the wedding.'
10 And those bondmen having departed into the roads, they gathered together all, as many as they found, both bad and good. And the wedding was filled with those who were dining.
10 Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with (e)dinner guests.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
10 So those slaves went out on the roads and gathered everyone they found, both evil and good. The wedding banquet was filled with guests.(b)
10 Those servants went out into the streets and brought in everyone they found, evil and good alike, and the wedding hall was packed with guests.
11 But when the king came in to see those who were dining, he saw there a man who was not clothed with a wedding garment.
11 “But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw (F)a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes,
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
11 But when the king came in to view the guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed for a wedding.(G)
11 "When the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.
12 And he says to him, Friend, how did thou come in here not having a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
12 and he *said to him, ‘(G)Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless.
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
12 So he said to him, ‘Friend,(H) how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ The man was speechless.
12 He asked him, "Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' But the man was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the helpers, After binding him hands and feet, take him away and cast him out into the outer darkness. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
13 Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into (H)the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him up hand and foot,(c) and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
13 Then the king told his servants, "Tie his hands and feet, and throw him into the darkness outside!' In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
16 And they send out their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou are true, and teach the way of God in truth, and it is not a concern to thee about a man, for thou look not to the personage of men.
16 And they *sent their disciples to Him, along with the (L)Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and (i)defer to no one; for You are not partial to any.
16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
16 They sent their disciples to Him, with the Herodians.(K) “Teacher,” they said, “we know that You are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You defer to no one, for You don’t show partiality.(e)(L)
16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. They said, "Teacher, we know that you are sincere and that you teach the way of God truthfully. You don't favor any individual, because you pay no attention to external appearance.
18 But Jesus having known their wickedness, said, Why do ye tempt me, ye hypocrites?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
18 But perceiving their malice, Jesus said, “Why are you testing Me, hypocrites?
18 Recognizing their wickedness, Jesus asked, "Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?
20 And he says to them, Whose is this image and inscription?
20 And He *said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?”
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
20 “Whose image and inscription is this?” He asked them.
20 They brought him a denarius. Then he asked them, "Whose face and name is this?"
21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Therefore, render the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God.
21 They *said to Him, “Caesar’s.” Then He *said to them, “(P)Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.”
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
21 “Caesar’s,” they said to Him.Then He said to them, “Therefore give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”(N)
21 They told him, "Caesar's." So he told them, "Then give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
22 And when they heard it, they marveled. And having left him, they departed.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left Him and went away.
22 When they heard this, they were amazed. Then they left him and went away.
23 On that day Sadducees came to him, those who claim to be no resurrection. And they questioned him, saying,
23 (R)On that day some (S)Sadducees (who say (T)there is no resurrection) came to Jesus and questioned Him,
23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
23 The same day some Sadducees,(O) who say there is no resurrection, came up to Him and questioned Him:(P)
23 That same day some Sadducees, who claim there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and asked him,
24 Teacher, Moses said, If some man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
24 asking, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘(U)If a man dies having no children, his brother as next of kin shall marry his wife, and raise up children for his brother.’
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
24 “Teacher, Moses said, if a man dies, having no children, his brother is to marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.(Q)(f)
24 "Teacher, Moses said, "If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for his brother.'
25 Now there were with us seven brothers. And the first having married perished. And having no seed left his wife to his brother.
25 Now there were seven brothers with us; and the first married and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother;
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first got married and died. Having no offspring, he left his wife to his brother.
25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his widow to his brother.
28 In the resurrection therefore, which of the seven will she be wife? For they all had her.
28 In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her.”
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
28 In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had married her.”(h)
28 Now in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be, since all of them had married her?"
29 But having answered, Jesus said to them, Ye are led astray, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
29 But Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, (V)not (m)understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
29 Jesus answered them, “You are deceived, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God.
29 Jesus answered them, "You are mistaken because you don't know the Scriptures or God's power,
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as agents of God in heaven.
30 For in the resurrection they neither (W)marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like(i) angels in heaven.(R)
30 because in the resurrection, people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven.
31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
31 But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God:
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
31 Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read what was spoken to you by God:
31 As for the resurrection from the dead, haven't you read what was spoken to you by God when he said,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not God of the dead, but of the living.
32 ‘(X)I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
32 I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?(S)(j) He(k) is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
32 "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
34 But the Pharisees, having heard that he silenced the Sadducees, they came together in the same place.

34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
34 When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they met together in the same place.
37 And Jesus said to him, Thou shall love Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind.

37 He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.(V)(m)
37 Jesus told him, ""You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
42 What does it seem to you about the Christ? Whose son is he? They say to him, Of David.
42 “What do you think about (p)the Christ, whose son is He?” They *said to Him, “(AG)The son of David.”
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
42 “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose Son is He?”“David’s,” they told Him.
42 "What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?" They told him, "David's."
44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I place thine enemies a footstool of thy feet?
44 ‘(AI)The Lord said to my Lord,“Sit at My right hand,Until I put Your enemies beneath Your feet”’?
44 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
44 The Lord declared to my Lord,‘Sit at My right handuntil I put Your enemies under Your feet’?(r)(AA)(s)
44 "The Lord told my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet."'?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, nor did any man from that day dare to question him any more.
46 (AJ)No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him (r)another question.
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
46 No one was able to answer Him at all,(t) and from that day no one dared to question Him anymore.(AB)
46 No one could answer him at all, and from that day on no one dared to ask him another question.
