Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
And all the people said, “
His blood shall be on us and on our children!”
He said to his mother, “The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse
in my hearing, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, “Blessed be my son by the Lord.”
But we cannot give them wives of our daughters.” For the sons of Israel
had sworn, saying, “Cursed is he who gives a wife to Benjamin.”
1 Samuel 14:24
Now the men of Israel were hard-pressed on that day, for Saul had
put the people under oath, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and until I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
But he began to
curse and swear, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”
When it was day,
the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.
I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh,

So when they had

But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
Peter then denied it again, and immediately
a rooster crowed.
