Jesus Calls His First Disciples

²¹ And he went forth from thence, and saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and called them. ²² And they, without tarrying, left the ship and their father and followed him. ²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healed all manner of sickness and all manner diseases among the people.

He that sayeth unto his father and mother, 'I saw him not,' and unto his brethren, 'I knew not,' and to his son, 'I know not': for they have observed thy words and kept thy covenant.

Matthew 10:37

He that loveth his father or mother more than me, is not meet for me: and he that loveth his son or daughter more than me, is not meet for me.
