I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus: for what was wanting in you, they have made up. For they have refreshed my spirit as well as yours: have a due regard therefore to such worthy persons.


For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by some of Chloe's family, that there are contentions among you.


even to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, and called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is both their Lord and ours;


Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not your substance, but your selves. For children are not expected to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

This, I say, is the third time I am coming to you: and at the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

But thanks be to God, who put the same concern for you into the heart of Titus: for he not only complied with the exhortation, but being more forward he went to you of his own accord.

I desired Titus to come to you, and with him I sent a brother: did Titus make a gain of you? did we not walk in the same spirit? did we not tread in the same steps?


Gaius my host, and that of the whole church saluteth you. Erastus, the chamberlain of the city, and our brother Quartus saluteth you.

Now if it be preached that Christ is risen from the dead, how say some among you, that there is no resurrection of the dead?

For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos, are ye not carnal?



and then to come to you again from Macedonia, and by you to be forwarded on my way to Judea.


Now as to the things concerning which ye wrote to me: it were good for a man not to touch a woman.


Now it came to pass while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul having passed through the upper parts of Asia came to Ephesus:





But Crispus the ruler of the synagogue believed on the Lord with all his house: and many of the Corinthians hearing the word believed, and were baptized.

I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius:

And departing thence, he went to the house of one named Justus, who worshipped God, whose house was contiguous to the synagogue.


After these things Paul departed from Athens and came to Corinth. And finding there a certain Jew, named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who was lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, (because Claudius Cesar had ordered all the Jews to depart from Rome,) he went to them; and as he was of the same trade, he staid and worked with them: for they were tent-makers.


Gaius my host, and that of the whole church saluteth you. Erastus, the chamberlain of the city, and our brother Quartus saluteth you.


I beseech you, brethren, (for ye know the family of Stephanas, that they are the first-fruits of Achaia, and

I also baptized indeed the family of Stephanas: but I know not whether I baptized any other.
