And Ahab had called for Obadiah, who was over his house. Now, Obadiah, was one who revered Yahweh, exceedingly.
And so it came to pass, when Jezebel was cutting off the prophets of Yahweh, that Obadiah took a hundred prophets, and hid them by fifties in caves, and sustained them, with bread and water.
So then Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go, and let us pass throughout the land, unto all the fountains of water, and unto all the ravines, peradventure we may find grass, and save alive horse and mule, and not have more of the beasts cut off.
So they divided to them the land, to pass through it, - Ahab, went one way, by himself, and, Obadiah, went another way, by himself.
And so it was, as Obadiah was on the road, that lo! Elijah, met him, - and he recognised him, and fell upon his face, and said - Now art, thou, my lord Elijah?
Obadiah said, "What sin have I committed that you are ready to hand your servant over to Ahab for execution?
So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him, - and, Ahab, went to meet, Elijah.
And, the sons of Hananiah, Pelatiah, and Jeshaiah, - the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, the sons of Shecaniah;
And the sons of Uzzi: Jizrahiah; and the sons of Jizrahiah: Michael, and Obadiah, and Joel, and Jishijah, five; all of them chief men.
And Azel had six sons, and these are their names: Azrikam, Bochru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan; all these were sons of Azel.
and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
and, Azel, had six sons, and these are their names - Azrikam, his firstborn , and Ishmael, and Sheariah and Obadiah, and Hanan, and Asah . These, were the sons of Azel.

Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.
The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning Edom: We have heard a report from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations. Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

As the LORD thy God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek thee; and when they all said, He is not here; he has caused kingdoms and nations to swear an oath if they have found thee or not. And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold Elijah. And it shall come to pass as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee where I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me; but I, thy slave, fear the LORD from my youth. Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the LORD, how I hid one hundred men of the LORD's prophets in groups of fifty in caves and sustained them with bread and water? And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold Elijah; and he shall slay me. And Elijah said unto him, As the LORD of the hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely show myself unto him today. Then Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him, and Ahab came to meet Elijah.
