and condemned Sodom and Gomorrah to be overthrown, reducing them to ashes, making them an example to those who should afterwards be wicked,


but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and sulphur from heaven, and destroyed all;





I tell you truly, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in a day of judgment, than for that city.

As also Isaiah said before, Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a posterity, we should have been like Sodom, and should have resembled Gomorrah.
